EPOCH In the fields of chronology and periodization, an epoch is an instant in time chosen as the origin of a particular era. The «epoch» then serves as a reference point from which time is measured.

This was the inspiration for the shoot a moment and creature created in an instant of time that then passes quickly on. I took a lot of inspiration from the hit TV series Stranger Things and created that other world moment in time where nothing exists except Wardrobe Stylist: Dean Nguyen- Stylist Makeup Artist/Hair Stylist: Tee Elliott - Makeup Artist Photographer: Táine King Wardrobe Credits: CHARLES YAKOB is exclusively available at Marion Cuddy’s, Powerscourt Centre, South William Street, Dublin 2 this creature and Polina’s collection fitted the story beautifully, while our model Rachel Quinn from Not Another Agency told the story with her distant eyes and menacing movements.

Polina Yakobson “My clothes are not for youth only. My clothes are for women of all ages. Elegant, feminine, sexy. Whatever your age, when you wear Charles Yakob, you wear it in your own unique way.”A well-crafted garment has the ability to stand the test of time and to be cherished by women of all generations. For Charles Yakob, this is a stance that lies at the very core of the labels DNA; combining beautifully hand crafted textiles with contemporary silhouettes and design. Charles Yakob clothes are forged with care; a refreshing standpoint on leather to equip its wearer with both power and grace. This is the work of Polina Yakobson. Born in 1986 in St-Petersburg, Russia, Yakobson is no stranger to ferociously empowered women and the clothes they wear.

Educated firstly at Dublin’s National College Of Art & Design, she went on to study on the prolific MA Fashion programme at Central Saint Martin’s, under fashion Doyenne Louise Wilson. It was during this time that Yakobson worked for John Rocha and Iris van Herpen, and designing dresses for the fearsome Lady Gaga, Bjork and Daphne Guinness. She went on to assist van Herpen at Paris Haute Couture fashion week before assisting Gareth Pugh on his A/W 15 collection. It’s this experiential filtration therefore that has led to the inception of CHARLES YAKOB- a label fused from the eponymous founder’s names, Polina Yakobson and Christine Charlebois. For their latest collection, the designer’s uphold their viewpoint on women of all ages- creating clothing that continues to empower their wearer. For Polina Yakobson- her clothes and the women that wear them carry a simple and poignant message; the age varies but their lifestyle connects them all. This timeless collection is true testament to that.
