EDITOR’S Letter W elcome to BeautyMute the spirit and culture of the beauty and fasihon photography in europe.
Thousands of pictures have been reaching us recently and that makes us happy. Every day we receive pictures of talented artists and for the next year we are looking for your works. Whether fashion designers, photographers, models or stylists - in our business is hidden a lot of talent and we want to promote. Our editors are busy working on our new website which will be published soon. There will also be changes in the design of the magazine. We will keep you up to date. We will also be increasingly active in the Asian region in the near future. Submissions for images are only possible via kavyar, as we receive too many emails every day and it is not possible to answer them all. Only our Ambassadors with a personal contact have the possibility to send pictures via eMail.

It is now late evening in Paris. Christoph Marti the photographer and I have been talking since the beginning of afternoon. For Marti, photography is not just about making a beautiful picture, it is a possibility to show the emotions of a person. His pictures are only slightly processed so that the viewer discovers the story in each picture and face. Whether a person is naked or wearing a thick jacket. For Marti, aesthetics comes first. In the interview I got to know an interesting person who does not like to talk about himself. He prefers to talk about the people behind the pictures and stories he has experienced. For me, Marti’s like a closed book, filled with professionalism and high standards in itself. Still, I could find out a few things about his private life. He feels extremely in the situation of other people, whether models, individuals or his team. Because of him, many newcomers could appear on magazine covers or decorate editorials for magazines like Vogue, Promo New York and many more. The response to the question why he chose Valentina for this editorial was: I’ve rarely seen a model with such potential. She is too small for the business - but we will certainly hear from her in the future. Working with models like her is an honor for me. Marti invited me to his apartment for the interview. There were lightning and cameras everywhere. When I asked, what means equipment for you: Technology alone does not bring a good picture. It’s the whole team. It’s the idea behind every image. It doens’t matter to own the most expensive technology. The goal, to create pictures that you can watch for more than two seconds.

Reflections of the Vulnerable MinD Becky Davidson
The concept of Reflections of the Mind comes from the idea that a photograph can either be perceived as a window, letting the viewer see more of the world or a mirror, reflecting the perceptions of the creator. Reflections of the Mind focuses on the Mirror concept and how those who suffer from mental illness may reflect their inner thoughts and feelings through their creative practice. Looking at three stages of mental illness, vulnerability, suffocation and nothingness. Reflections of the Mind is a project that explores a deeper understanding of each individual’s mental capacity to cope with their inner demons. Each image has been created with the idea of making the viewer feel something physical in an increasingly digital world. This series is taken from the vulnerability concept and depicts a sense of innocence balancing on the edge of danger. Each concept is accompanied by a creative writing piece.
