Creating a Sanctuary A Q&A WITH EUREKA, MY COZY CORNER
Q: Can you tell us about the design of your living space & how you thoughtfully gathered goods to create what looks like a sanctuary?
A: Our living room is the most asked about space. I knew I wanted to brighten up the room without using too much white because well, kids. So I went with an ultra pure white on the walls and a white sofa. I used black accents such as the console table to break up the white in between the sofa and wall. It also grounds the space. I like to take expensive styles and find dupes when I can. The Boda sling chairs from Target are great replicas for the style I was looking for, so they were a good fit. I love adding vintage pieces for a little history and pillows for texture. All of these elements create a cozy relaxed vibe.
Q: What advice can you give us on recreating a peaceful space like this?
A: The key to creating a peaceful space is allowing God to be in everything you do. I ask him to allow others to feel the peace he’s given us. At times I ask him to help me perfect a space when I’m stumped and he always does.

Q: How do you and your family use this space? Is this where you connect with guests when they visit?
A: Our living room is used for many events from movie night to semiformal gatherings. but the ones I hold dear to my heart are Thanksgiving and morning devotion with the kids.
Q: I love the neutral & natural vibe you have lovingly pulled together in your living room. Is this the theme you’ve created in your entire home?
A: While neutrals have my heart, I did allow earth tones to creep into my master bedroom update. There you’ll find olive green and different shades of brown and black.
