We are thrilled to introduce the Beau Soleil Athlete Development programme specialized in tennis as a fantastic opportunity to cultivate and enhance the skills of our passionate young players, boys and girls, coming from various background and experience. The programme has been designed to offer a unique focus on their passion, providing specialized all year training sessions, resources and competitions tailored to their needs. The students will be supported by a high qualified group of staff including a Swiss Tennis pro coach that will inspire the students and support them to reach their goals on their technical skills, physical abilities, game play awareness and tactics.
This unique programme will embrace technology to provide the extra support required to perform at their very best, using video analysis as well as GPS trackers to record their progress and analyse movements.
We have integrated regular fitness testing sessions thanks to our partnership with FMS school™ that allow students to have a clear understanding of their fitness, mobility, and coordination progress during the year.
A competition calendar has been designed to motivate, challenge, and inspire our students all year long. They will have the chance to play the official Swiss ranking circuit to apply new concepts and perform not only against other international schools players
but as well Swiss clubs level players . One of the highlights of the season is the SGIS league competition Beau Soleil is hosting in the outstanding Villars tennis centre.
We truly believe that the Beau Soleil Athlete Development programme is an exceptional structure to fostering young athletes’ growth into balanced individuals to excel in diverse range of skills, knowledge, and experiences. They will learn how to deal with stressful situations, manage their time efficiently, interact effectively with others, and contribute positively to their community.
Jérémie Collomb Head of Competitive Sports
Beau Soleil has developed a unique partnership with Villars tennis club. The students involved in the Athlete Development programme are granted with a Swiss tennis licence and are affiliated to Villars tennis Club, allowing them to take part to official Swiss competitions.
The students have access to the excellent facility during the training sessions including three clay outdoor courts as well as three indoor courts and have the opportunity to play independently on weekends.
At Beau Soleil, tennis remains a key part of the competitive sports curriculum even during the winter months. The school offers an excellent opportunity to train and improve year-round, thanks to the indoor courts that provide a perfect environment for practice during the colder season.
The athlete development program is structured to include three tennis training sessions per week, consisting of two team sessions and one semi-private session. Students are expected to demonstrate full commitment by being punctual and arriving with the appropriate equipment.
This structure ensures a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for students, promoting not only skill development but also a deep appreciation for the game of tennis. The main objectives are the following:
• Skill Development: Technical fundamental tennis skills including serving, forehand, backhand, volleys, and footwork.
• Physical Fitness: Promote physical fitness through tennis-specific exercises, agility drills, and conditioning.
• Mental Toughness: Enhance focus, resilience, and strategic thinking on the court.
• Etiquette and Rules: Instil knowledge of tennis rules, scoring, and proper court etiquette.
• Enjoyment and Passion: Foster a lifelong appreciation and passion for the game of tennis.
Their journey will start in September with an open trial session where they will be able to show their skills and share their expectation and goals for the year to come.
The students will be supported by two members of the Beau Soleil Physical Education faculty. The staff will be the direct con tact on a daily basis to guide the students to get the best of the experience. Our external Swiss Federal tennis coach is our technical specialist and will deliver personalized and tailor-made training sessions to our students.

The Beau Soleil tennis team will have the privilege of playing at one of Switzerland’s elite clubs, the Lausanne Tennis Club, in partnership with the Wawrinka Academy. This exclusive trip, offered as part of the Athlete Development program, is available only to tennis team members. The weekend event will be led by Beau Soleil tennis supervisors, with our private Swiss National tennis coach on hand to support and guide the players’ progression throughout the experience.
The aim of this weekend trip is to provide students with the best possible start to the season, ensuring they are fully prepared and focused. The program will focus on:
• Extending fundamental skills in serving, forehand, backhand, volleys, and footwork
• Enhancing physical conditioning
• Conducting an initial assessment and evaluation of each player’s abilities
• Developing team spirit by fostering camaraderie among the students.
This comprehensive approach is designed to set the foundation for a successful season ahead.
Beau Soleil will provide some high standard personalized equipment such as a branded tennis uniform used during tournaments to represent the school the best way. The students will also be attributed Beau Soleil personalized branded tennis bag and towel from Head, our direct partner.
Students showing interest can sign up at the September Afternoon Activity Fair. A minimum skill level will be required to be enrolled only because of the nature of the sport and tournament accessibility. Students who wish to learn the fundamental skills of tennis will have the opportunity to join recreational sessions instead. The school will cover the programme fees, including external coaching, transportation, meals during training and tournaments, the Villars memberships, and specific team equipment.
Parents will be requested to provide support on personal equipment, such as the players team polo shirt, team shorts, and personal tennis bag and their Swiss players’ licence. Semi private and private lessons over the weekends can be arranged with additional fees if requested.
A separate information will be sent to sign up for the exclusive weekend training camp trip in Lausanne.
