COMMUNICATIONS A. PUBLIC COMMENTS: No individual comment shall be for more than three (3) minutes and the total time for this purpose shall not exceed fifteen (15) minutes. Board members may respond to comments however no action can be taken. The Board may give direction to staff following comment.

BOARD CHAIR DISCUSSION AND RECOGNITION None

BOARD/STAFF DISCUSSION Director’s report: 1. School Update: Mr. Schweitzer reported that the school took occupancy of the Pioneer building during the month of August and provided a summary of the building improvements provided by the school district. Although there are a couple more building repair items scheduled, 33 staff were able to work in the building during the all staff meeting. Dandy Stevens, Superintendent attended part of the meeting as well.

Mr. Schweitzer continued his report stating that after approximately 100 students were withdrawn, which is typical for a virtual school, the student enrollment is currently at 304 students. He anticipates that there will be an additional 100 students enrolled in the next couple of weeks.

2. Financial Review Mr. Schweitzer stated that the school received a double state school fund payment in July and there were no major purchases that month. The school has met all its obligations for the month.

3. Principal Update: Elementary Report Mrs. Schweitzer reported on the all staff meeting on August 19, 2019 and provided updated staffing information including that there is one teacher for each grade band except for the kindergarten and first grades which have one teacher.

Mr. Neal reviewed components of the day including onboarding training courses, teacher mentor program, and other activities.

III.

CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS All matters listed under the consent agenda are considered by the Board to be routine and will be approved/enacted by the Board in one motion in the form listed below. Unless specifically requested by a Board member for further discussion or removed from the agenda, there will be no discussion of these items prior to the Board votes on them. The Executive Director recommends approval of all consent revised agenda items as shown.

1. New Employees: Katrina Jones, high school science Stevie Peters, K/1 teacher 2. Resignations: Jennifer Gentle, K/1 teacher 3. Employment Changes: Mr. Schweitzer explained the resignation process and the successful hire of a qualified candidate.

Motion: ​Director Memory moved and Director Winning seconded to approve the revised consent items as shown in mass. (Motion passed 3-0, Director Burch absent.)

IV.

SCHEDULED FOR ACTION Personnel B. Business Mr. Schweitzer explained that an extension of the 90 days contract negotiations requirement between the district and the school is needed to give more time to finalize the terms between the two parties.

IV-BDRPT-03_081919 - Extension of Charter Agreement The Frontier Charter Academy Board of Directors, in mutual agreement with the Gervais School Board of Directors approves extending the deadline to 9/30/19 to finalize negotiations the 2020-2023 Charter Agreement. (Motion passed 3-0 as shown below)
