Based on 274 responses, the largest majority of respondents favor having a Temporary Dog Park at Site #1, followed by Site #2, Site #3 and a low percentage of respondents that did not favor any of the proposed sites. ď ľ

Q2: Please explain the reason why you favor the selected site OR why you do not favor any of the proposed temporary sites?

Site #1, 5322 Rue Eaglemont 

The main reasons for selecting Site #1 was due to its location and size of the temporary site.



The main reasons, in opposition to Site #1 was identified as the parking and the ease of access for a dog owner to be able to use the site.

Site #2, 5315 Rue Eaglemont 

The main reason for selecting Site #2 is due to the familiarity of this site – as it is in the close proximity to the old Temporary Dog Park site.



Similar to Site #1, the main point of concern for Site #2 is parking and ease of access. Given the constructions, parking won’t be accessible – leaving street parking as the only alternative for dog park users.

Site #3, St. Vital Park 

The main reasons for favoring Site #3, were the accessible parking space and less noise from construction (that is ongoing due to Beaumont Sports & Recreation Center renovation).



A concern for many respondents to St. Vital Park is that a lot of kids and families use the open space and slopes for tobogganing.

Summarized topics of conversation: Location: Location is a key issue for many respondents, they want a Temporary Dog Park that is conveniently situated for their needs.

Size: With an approximation of just over six thousand (6000) dogs in Beaumont, the size and space for a temporary site should be a major factor to consider in this decision.

Separation: The separation of dogs, on the basis of size, is a favored position for many respondents. They don’t want any attacks or infractions involving a big and smaller dog - smaller dogs risk injury.

Access: Access to parking and pathway is a major point of concern for many respondents, they favor a site perfectly situated for users that want to walk to the site and those that need to drive and park near the site.
