NightmareFragmentsforsaxophonequartetbeganasaseriesofautomaticwritingexercises, inspiredbyfivesoundsfromfivenightmaresasbestIcouldrememberthem.Bytransforming mymemoriesintosonicspace,Ifoundmyselfabletoreperformsomeofthesurreal,unsettling, orabsurdaspectsofanuncontrollabledream.
ThemusicalscoreforNFispartofalargercollaborationwithburlesquedancerandvideographer thatexplorestheactofparadoxicalintention.Thismultimediaprojectwasintendedtopremierelive inMarch2020butwascancelledduetotheCovid-19pandemic.Instead,Irecordedtheplayersin studioanddirectedashortdancefilmtoaccompanythescore.
