Fun Run Round Up
On Wednesday afternoon our school field was alive with House colours and excitable teenagers, all eagerly awaiting their House challenges and making the most of an afternoon away from lessons.

The fun didn’t start on Wednesday though, as our students have been competing in the sponsorship competition for two weeks to try and be crowned one of the top five individual sponsorship fundraisers, and potentially win their House 500 points while their at it! The competition is on until 14 th April.

Exceptional Reporting
We highly recommend having a read of The Spotlight, a magazine by students, for students. The content is incredibly informative and interesting, with topics including a Brexit briefing, the impact of funding cuts on our school, the plight of the BHS Climate Warriors, top tips for exams and more!

The Friends Update
It’s spot on that we should be talking about the new Friend's initiative to get all parents and guardians of girls at Becky High together on a private parent social network in the Community News bulletin, as the heart of a community is a shared space to communicate and be together - that’s why the steering group of Friends of Becky High really believe in Classlist.
The purpose of Friends is twofold; to build and engage the parent community and to raise vital funds to support our school. Every parent or guardian at the school is automatically a ‘Friend’ and then there is a group that meets to plan events and other initiatives. That steering group is an open group on Classlist so you can see who's in it, send direct messages, read the minutes of the meetings and take part anytime you choose. Or simply message your friends. Whatever works best for you.
It’s not easy at present to get to know people across interest groups and year groups or to find information by simply asking a wider group of other parents. Many Forms work well with a WhatsApp group, which is great, but the wider challenge is how to connect up all those separate groups - across year groups and across the school and that is really what Classlist does best:

• It’s packed with useful contacts you need on a platform you can trust.
• It’s a secure social media group only accessible to approved users - parents at the school
• Class contact lists
• Year group contact lists
• Secure messaging network
• Sharing map for school sports/dance/music lifts etc
• Events area
• Free parent listing board - for selling/freecycling outgrown bicycles, books etc
• Invite function for private events i.e Form get togethers
• All you need to do is click on the link: https://classlist.com and search for ‘Friends of Beaconsfield High School’.
If you have further questions do email me personally at fobhs@outlook.com. Please take a moment to click the link and really look forward to seeing you in Classlist. Meanwhile, hope you have a lovely Easter.
