The Beacon Community

The Beacon Parents’ Society and Class Representatives The Beacon Parents’ Society (BPS) is actively involved in the life of the school and has two fundamental aims. Firstly, to organise social events for boys and their families to raise funds for local charities and to provide equipment and facilities additional to those which are provided from the resources of the Governing body, and secondly, to bring families together and encourage a sense of community. Please see our website for a list of social events for 2022/2023.

A Class Representative system exists to help the BPS with its aims and organise class events. You will be kept informed of BPS events in The Beacon Newsletter.

ClassList Our parents use Classlist to communicate within their year group and to manage a range of events. Due to GDPR guidelines, parents are no longer able to mass email their year group, so they use Classlist, a secure app used by schools around the country to make life run more smoothly for School Communities.

The Beacon Association and Old Beaconians The Beacon Association includes Old Beaconians (former pupils), and both current and former parents and members of staff. We run events for former pupils, staff and parents throughout the year as an opportunity to reconnect.

To stay connected with The Beacon Association on social media follow our Old Beaconians Association Facebook page. There is also The Old Beacon Society, a separate Facebook group just for Old Beacon Boys, and also our Beacon Alumni LinkedIn Group.
