May 8

At 11:14 a.m., an officer responded to JCPenney, located at 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a theft report. The reporting party witnessed the suspect steal nearly $475.00 worth of clothing before fleeing to in a gray Hummer H3. A record check of the license plate revealed the registered owner is from Los Angeles. The investigation is ongoing.

At 3:18 p.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary incident. Surveillance footage revealed a male suspect smashed the victim’s car window and fled with an umbrella and sunglasses. The suspect fled in a Toyota RAV4. The investigation is ongoing.

May 9

At 1:17 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter to take a grand theft report. The theft occurred in the 200 block of East Foothill Boulevard. The victim stated he left his home office open for an employee to complete some repairs but when the victim returned, he discovered his tools, wallet, and electronics had been stolen. The suspect, a 30-year-old male from Arcadia, has not been apprehended as of May 17.

At 5:20 p.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia Police Department regarding a fraud report. The victim discovered someone had stolen the victim’s bank information and identity. The suspect used her identity to open a new bank account and attempted to make multiple fraudulent bank transfers.

May 10

At 7:24 a.m., an officer responded to Zelo, a restaurant located at 328 E. Foothill Blvd., regarding a commercial burglary. The officer determined an unknown suspect smashed the front glass door and fled with cash. of West Duarte Road regarding a vehicle burglary report. Surveillance footage captured the suspect exit his vehicle, spray paint the lens of the surveillance camera, and proceed to smash the victim’s vehicle window and steal a handbag. The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male with a moustache and was wearing a light colored baseball hat and a light colored Nike sweatshirt. The suspect fled in a Honda sedan. The investigation is ongoing.

May 11

At 10:59 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. Surveillance cameras captured the suspect drive into the secure parking garage, the suspect then moved the camera with his hand, and proceeded to smash the victim’s vehicle window. The suspect fled empty-handed. He fled in a black Toyota sedan. The investigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.

At 11:34 a.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter to take a fraud report. An investigation revealed the suspect responded to the victim’s for-sale ad and mailed the victim a check for payment. The victim deposited the check that was for more than the listed sale price. The suspect instructed the victim to refund him the difference. The victim complied and paid the suspect. Following these transactions, the victim’s bank notified him that the initial check was fraudulent and that the full check amount would be deducted from his account. The identity of the suspect is under investigation.

May 12

At 10:47 a.m., an officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Huntington Drive for displaying an expired registration sticker. The vehicle failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit was terminated when the suspect entered the 210 Freeway at Baldwin Avenue.

The vehicle is registered to a 34-year-old female from Duarte. The investigation is ongoing.

At 3:10 p.m., an officer responded to McDonald’s, located at 143 E. Foothill Blvd., regarding a theft report. The victim discovered her catalytic converter was stolen while her vehicle was parked at the location sometime between 9:55 a.m. and 5:40 p.m. on May 12. The investigation is awaiting the submission of surveillance footage.

May 13

At 1:58 p.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia Police Department regarding a fraud report. The victim discovered someone made three small deposits to his bank account, all for less than $1.00. Approximately six weeks later, someone made two large withdrawals from the same account. The victim was able to provide investigators with a possible name of the suspect.

At 8:24 p.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of West Duarte Road regarding a theft from vehicle incident. Sometime between 10 p.m. on May 12 and 8:15 on May 13, someone stole the victim’s catalytic converter from his Ford F350.

May 14

At 8:29 a.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of West Floral Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime during the previous night, the victim’s Mazda CX-5 was stolen. The victim stated he left his spare key inside the vehicle and was unsure if it was left locked. The vehicle was later recovered by the Lakewood Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

At 4:29 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of Las Tunas Drive regarding a female bleeding from her head. An investigation revealed the victim was hit in the face and head with a stick by the suspect before the suspect fled. The suspect is described as a White male, around 5-feet-7-inches tall, 130 pounds, with blue eyes, white hair, and he was approximately 50 years old. Arcadia Fire responded and transported the victim to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing.

MONROVIA

May 5

At 7:25 a.m., an officer was patrolling the intersection of Duarte and Myrtle when he saw a bicyclist commit a traffic violation. A traffic stop was initiated and further investigation revealed the subject was in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and taken into custody. Commercial Burglary May 5 at 9 a.m., a broken window was reported in the 600 block of West Huntington. An investigation revealed that two suspects had forced entry into the business during the night. Unknown at this time if anything was taken. This investigation is continuing.

At 11:27 a.m., a caller in the 400 block of South Violet advised that a subject was yelling and causing a disturbance. Officers made contact with the subject and an investigation revealed he had multiple warrants for his arrest. He was arrested per the authority of the warrants and taken into custody.

At 4:09 p.m., an officer patrolling the 1600 block of South Primrose contacted a subject loitering in the area. During the contact the officer discovered the subject was in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and taken into custody.

At 4:12 p.m., a disturbance was reported in the 500 block of South Myrtle. Officers made contact with the subject and an investigation revealed he had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. The subject was arrested per the authority of the warrants and taken into custody.

At 5:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of South Mountain regarding a shoplifting that had just occurred. Upon arrival they detained the suspect and conducted an investigation. The store management placed the suspect under private per-

son’s arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody.

At 10:11 p.m., a victim in the 1000 block of East Royal Oaks reported that he had been scammed out of money. The victim was contacted via social media by someone he believed was an old friend. The suspect then requested money in exchange for bitcoin. This investigation is continuing.

At 10:14 p.m., an employee of a business in the 400 block of South Myrtle flagged down an officer to report a battery. A male suspect had punched an employee in the mouth. The victim had fallen to the ground. Paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect was identified. He was arrested and taken into custody.

May 6

At 12:30 a.m., an officer patrolling the 1600 block of South Myrtle saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted and an investigation was conducted and the driver was found to have been driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DUI and transported to the Monrovia Police Department jail and held for a sobering period.

At 12:51 a.m., a female subject in the 100 block of Olive called and was incoherent over the phone. Officers responded and the subject advised that she and her boyfriend were inside a local business when they saw that the boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend was inside. They left to avoid conflict, but once outside the ex-girlfriend confronted her. An argument ensued and the ex-girlfriend began punching the victim in the face multiple times causing her to fall down. The suspect then fled the scene. Paramedics responded to the location and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. This investigation is continuing.

At 3:24 p.m., a victim in the 1400 block of Pilgrim Way came into the Police Department lobby to report that he was scammed out money from a fraudulent rental home listing. This investigation is continuing. At 4:22 p.m., a resident in the 1400 block of Alamitas called to report that her vehicle was broken into and her laptop was stolen. This investigation is continuing.

At 5:01 p.m., a victim reported that her vehicle was broken into while she was shopping at a business in the 700 block of West Huntington. This investigation is continuing.

At 6:18 p.m., a caller stated that she had been involved in an accident the day prior near the intersection of Myrtle and Walnut and wanted to make a cold collision report.

At 11:41 p.m., an officer was patrolling the area of Peck and Longden when he observed a subject walking with a flashlight inside of the wash area. Two subjects were contacted and an investigation revealed that both were in possession of controlled substances. They were arrested and taken into custody.

May 7

At 1:07 a.m., officers responded to a hotel in the 1100 block of East Huntington regarding a noise complaint. They contacted a subject and further investigation revealed he was in possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested and taken into custody.

At 1:39 a.m., a caller advised she was involved in a traffic collision near the intersection of Foothill and Stedman. No injuries were reported. Officers responded and took a collision report.

At 6:48 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of West Cherry called to report that his vehicle was taken sometime during the night. Officers responded and conducted an investigation. The vehicle was entered into the national stolen vehicle database. This investigation is continuing.

At 4:51 p.m., a vehicle collision was reported in the 100 block of Madeline. A vehicle struck a parked car. Officers and paramedics arrived on scene and checked the wellbeing of the occupant. The driver sustained an ankle injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. This investigation is continuing.
