fter 33 years n Duarte’s City Council, John Fasana has chosen not to run for reelection. Those years represent more than half of his lifetime serving his city and its residents. He will be missed by his community he has served so faithfully. Margret Findley, his longtime colleague, wrote of him: “I have worked with John Fasana for more than 30 years on the Duarte City Council. John has not only been a leader in our city but has been a beacon of light for transportation in our region. John has been key to bringing a lot of money to our city via his connections with regional and state organizations. He also has had the vision and integrity to bring about a tremendous amount of positive change for the City of Duarte. I will miss his intelligence and sense of humor and wish him all the best in the future.” Recently he was asked what he thought were his most important achievements. There are several projects of which is particularly proud: the forming of Encanto Park and the Senior Center being two of the most notable. He also mentioned the closely working relationships between the Council and the School Board as well as the ties to City of Hope. Of the City of Hope, he said that the partnerships the Council and the cancer research center have developed are continuing to grow. He was quick to point out these were not achievements made by his own efforts, but as a result of cooperation among the council members.
