t their latest regular meeting, the Pasadena City Council decided to relocate a proposed restroom facility for the new Desiderio Neighborhood Park (10. N. Arroyo Blvd.), which is

currently under construction. The bathroom was originally approved by the council in 2014 as part of the overall Desiderio Park planned development, but recently came under intense scrutiny as neighboring residents cited various concerns, including SEE DESIDERIO PARK PAGE 4

Man Arrested for Attempting to Set Fire to Pasadena Police Cruiser Staff WRITER editorial@beaconmedianews.com

Pasadena Police officers responded to the north side of the Pasadena Police Station regarding a male who was observed pouring an unidentified fluid on the hood of a marked Pasadena Police vehicle on July 20. Upon contact with the suspect, it became clear he was holding a lighter.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the suspect was trying to light the hood of the marked police vehicle on fire. The fire failed to ignite prior to officers detaining the suspect. The suspect was arrested for attempted arson and booked into the Pasadena Police jail. The case is under investigation by the Pasadena Fire Department Arson Investigator.

According to Pasadena PD watch commander, a single 911 called alerted officers to a ‘shots fired’ call near the 300 block of East Villa Street at approximately 1:30 am Tuesday. summoned and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Pasadena Police detectives also responded and were canvassing the area for evidence and additional witnesses.
