Arcadia Police Investigate Death of a Temple City Man BY TERRY MILLER

The Arcadia Police Department was called to the area of Naomi Avenue and El Monte Avenue at about 7:35 a.m. this morning regarding an unknown trouble, with the reporting party saying there was an injured person down, inside the wash. Officers arrived to find a deceased male inside the wash with an apparent head injury. The cause of death is currently being investigated by Detectives from the Arcadia Police Department. The coroner has identified the man as Temple City resident, Chun Yen Liu, 40. The cause of death is yet to be determined. Investigators were called along with Arcadia PD around 7:30 a.m. Thursday to report of an injured man, responding officers and paramedics determined the man was deceased. The City of El Monte celebrated its latest example of economic development with the grand opening of the Magellan Gateway – a new 501,270-square-foot industrial complex – on Oct. 26. Located at 4181-4189 Temple City Blvd., the $55 million project is a symbol of industrial and economic growth in the city. In a welcoming ceremo-

ny that included El Monte City Council, staff, community dignitaries and principals of The Magellan Group and The Gill Corporation, City Manager Jesus Gomez thanked the developers for their investment in the City of El Monte. “This partnership brings to life a shared vision of economic growth and prosperity for El Monte,” Gomez said. “We are thankful for the

investment being made in our people and community through this new state-ofthe-art industrial complex that paves the way for hundreds of secure jobs in our city.” Magellan Gateway was constructed on a 26-acre site and consists of five buildings – three of which are already SEE PAGE 3
