Robber Pepper Sprays Sierra Madre Bank Employees

A male suspect, race unknown, dressed in white from head to toe (face covered with white cotton mask with openings at the eyes), pepper-sprayed multiple victims and brandished a handgun Wednesday, May 25, at Bank of the West on Sierra Madre Boulevard.

The suspect got away with undisclosed amount of cash. Currently, the FBI have not linked this suspect to other robberies. If you have any information, please contact the Sierra Madre Police Department or the FBI. PHOTO ON PAGE 16

The British Home will be holding its 2016 June Faire on Saturday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This family-friendly event celebrating “All Things British “ is held annually on the first Saturday in June at Sierra Madre’s graceful nonprofit independent and assisted living facility for seniors. Admission is free. Colorful booths, boutiques, and refreshment stands situated on the beautiful two-and-a-half-acre campus will offer hand-made arts and crafts, books, collectibles, personal accessories, and decorative items for sale. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the support of the British Home. SEE PAGE 17

As in years past, Alverno High School is excited and proud that 100 percent of graduates will be going to college next year! To date, these young women have received over
