Wistaria Festival Draws Less People This Year According to many in attendance and local shopkeepers, this year’s Wistaria Festival lacked the vibrancy of years past. According to officials, approximately 20 street
vendors decided not to show up, leaving empty booths on Baldwin and Sierra Madre Boulevard. And, according to one eyewitness, there was “way too much jewelry” being hawked.
However, hundreds did in fact take the time to see the 100-year plus old vine about which the whole festival is centered. Wistertia, also spelled Wistaria or Wysteria, is a

Hit and Run Traffic Collision Leads to an Attempted Car Jacking
A man was arrested last Sunday afternoon, March 13, after he allegedly was involved in a hit and run traffic collision that occurred in the intersection of Lima and Montecito Avenue. After allegedly causing the traffic collision, the subject then fled the scene and came in contact with a female pedestrian
who happened to be in the nearby area at the time of the collision. The subject began punching the female for no apparent reason when an uninvolved vehicle approached them and began making a u-turn in a nearby driveway on Lima. The subject then stopped punching the SEE PAGE 17
