5.6% RealEstate Growth in Glendale Los Angeles County Assessor Jeffrey Prang today released the 2015 Annual Report. The Annual Report includes the assessed value of all taxable real property and business personal property in the County, along with detailed data on the different elements that make up the 2015 Assessment Roll. This is Assessor Prang’s first Annual Report since taking office last December. “The 2015 Annual Report will help the public easily find information about Assessor operations and major initiatives, how property values in their city changed in the last year, and much more,” said Assessor Jeffrey Prang. “This report also includes detailed information on each of the 88 cities in Los Angeles County.” Glendale includes 34,268 single-family residential parcels, 1,000 condo parcels, 5,816 apartment building parcels, and 3,410 commercial-industrial parcels, for a total of 43,533 parcels. The Office of the Assessor processed 2,216 transfers in Glendale last year. The total assessed value for Glendale is $27,224,163,479, which represents an increase of 5.6%. In 2015, the City of Los Angeles remains the highest valued city at $500.3 billion, with a 7.2% increase over last year. Long Beach ($50.1 billion, 2.5% increase), Santa Monica ($31 billion, 7.3% increase), Beverly Hills ($27.8 billion, 9.1% increase), and Santa Clarita ($27.3 billion, 4.7% increase), round out the top five highest valued cities.

‘Edgar Allan Poe’ visits San Bernardino Public Library Oct. 6
Broadway and film actor Duffy Hudson will return to the Feldheym Central Library on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 6:00 PM to bring his talent and fascination for Edgar Allan Poe to life in a unique oneman play. This program will mark 166 years since Poe’s death on October 7, 1849. In the Shadow of the Raven begins as Edgar Allan Poe rises from the scene of his mysterious death and continues as he pieces together the events of his life. Using a combination of biographical information and the dramatic interpretation of Poe’s literature, Annabel Lee, The Raven and The Tell Tale Heart, Hudson provides a unique, in-depth theatrical experience of the life and works of one of America’s best-known and enigmatic personalities. Duffy Hudson is an actor, director, writer, teacher and filmmaker. He has performed in hundreds of plays and has directed over 300 theatrical pieces, including workshop productions with Brooke Shields, The Three Sisters with Jessica Lange, Don Johnson and Tatum O’Neal, and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf with Marlo Thomas. Duffy tours the US with his one man shows of Edgar Allan Poe, Albert Einstein, George Burns, Dr. Seuss, and A Christmas Carol. Duffy has performed Poe over 1000 times to more than 300 standing ovations and was recently honored with the title “Voice of Poe” for the Poe House and Museum in Fordham NY.
