Monterey Park and Alhambra city fire engine and ladder truck collide during rush to a house fire Six firefighters and nine civilians were injured Wednesday after two fire engines collided at a Monterey Park intersection, sending one of them careening into Chinese restaurant according to police reports. The crash, which involved a Monterey Park Fire Department fire engine and an Alhambra Fire Department ladder truck, was first reported about 3:15 p.m. at the Lu Dumpling House, at the southeast corner of Garfield and Emerson avenues, according to Monterey Park police and fire officials. Arson and Explosives Detail (AED) Detectives continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assault of a man on the northbound 605 freeway, just north of the 60 freeway. Detectives have learned that at approximately 1:49 PM the unidentified maleadult was discovered along the 605 freeway suffering from severe burns to the face and body.
