On Friday, January 18, 2013, three Glendale Engine Companies, two Glendale Truck Companies, one Glendale Basic Life Support ambulance, and one Los Angeles County Engine Company under the direction of Battalion Chief Thomas Marchant responded to a reported structure fire at 4822 Dunsmore Avenue, La Crescenta, California, 91214. E28 arrived on scene to discover an unoccupied moving truck had traveled down Dunsmore Avenue, struck a telephone pole knocking it down with active power lines attached to it. The live power lines sparked a small exterior fire on a residential property. Glendale Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire using a dry chemical extinguisher due to active power lines within the vicinity of the fire. 3,000 resi-

Wade Supreme Court decision. The well-known local and national scholars of theology and current events brought forth some meticulous insight into a woman’s right to choose and the ongoing debate on behalf of the conservative right in the United States which Reverend Tom Davis said is “absolutely about controlling women’s’ lives.” Ed Bacon, who is rector at All Saints is not one known for his silence on social issues. Bacon’s 4000 member congregation is arguably the most progressive in the Los Angeles area when fighting social injustice and peace issues. Bacon said Tuesday that the attempts by those opposed to a woman’s right to choose are “ Racist and sexist…” and he continued that those attempts to quash a woman’s right to choose

Burbank city council searches for city manager Ken Pulskamp has served as the interim City Manager since December 3, 2012. The City Council has been working with him and the executive search firm, Peckham & McKenney to find a permanent replacement. The City Council wants to engage the community and receive input on the ideal candidate for city manager. Recruiter Bobbi Peckham will be interviewing a wide array of interested groups and holding public forums during the month of February. Public input during this period is welcome and encouraged. The City Council anticipates applications will be accepted beginning in March through mid-April. The screening and interview process will conclude in May with an anticipated appointment in June and a potential start date in July.
