Currently closed for main track construction, Santa Anita is scheduled to reopen for training on Dec. 6.Stall applications are now available to horsemen at www.santaanita. com and at racetracks and training centers throughout California. Applications are due to be returned to the Santa Anita Racing Office by Friday, Nov. 12. The 2010/2011 race meeting will be the first conducted on a dirt surface since the winter/spring of 2006/2007. Comptroller Chiang Highlights Local Government Compensation California State Comptroller John Chiang’s office has updated their website with considerable detail on local government’s compensation within the state. The website: http://lgcr.sco. ca.gov/ , will show you every city and every dept’s salary range therein. In a press release issued on August 3, 2010, Controller John Chiang announced new reporting requirements for all California cities and counties, directing them to clearly identify elected officials’ and public employees’ compensation. While many cities have posted some information on their websites, this website update from Chiang’s office is highly detailed and makes for some interesting reading. The reports are up to the minute as of Oct 21, 2010.
