So, the session has finally come to an end. It had been a good year, with lots to celebrate .Students have greatly enjoyed the vast choice of activities and opportunities provided to them throughout. I take this opportunity to thank parents who enthusiastically participated in our events and in their child’s learning….you all deserve a pat on the back! The year’s end always brings with it a tremendous sense of achievement. So many things have been accomplished this year and a glimpse of these are given below:
Earth Day On April 22nd, 2016 the students of KG-1 PECHS celebrated Earth Day with a medley of educational and fun activities over a span of one whole week. Students took active part in speaking and shared their points of views while suggesting their resolution for making the planet a better place to live in. They helped tidy the school playground by picking up trash and throwing into the bin while ensuring to make it a regular practice. A lot of emphasis was given to the importance of conserving resources and recycling through discussions.

Pakistan Day: An immense spirit of patriotism was witnessed at KG-1 PECHS while celebrating Pakistan Day on 25th March 2016. The day started with recitation, followed by National Anthem, speeches and national songs by students amidst claps and slogans of ‘Long Live Pakistan’ and ‘Pakistan Zindabad’. Teachers and students discussed the importance of Pakistan Day and the historical significance of Minare-Pakistan. They also prepared badges to take home.

Elocution: In order to boost confidence and develop public speaking skills among our students, an elocution was organized on 22nd March for KG and grade ones. Students from each section recited interesting English and Urdu poems with fluency and expression. On the other hand all students of each section actively participated in group poem. It was marvelous to see our young speakers perform so confidently on stage. were the proud winners.

On March 12th, 2016 the school and all the students bloomed with colours and smiles welcoming the arrival of spring on a beautiful Saturday morning. A vibrant spring festival came into succession with hard work and dedication. Informative sessions by professionals were arranged for parents on topics like ‘Dental Hygiene’, ‘Speech and Language Milestones’, ‘Healthy Bones for a Healthy Life’ and ‘Effective Parenting Skills’ which was appreciated by all. Annual Sports at KG 1 PECHS was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 23rd January 2016. The ambience was decorated with snowflakes, penguins, polar bears, snowmen etc. following the theme, ‘Winter Wonderland’. The events included a splendid Taekwondo, Gymnastics, Aerobics and PE display and a

variety of races, with the participation of all the students. This day was a great opportunity for parents and children to enjoy a healthy and active day out apart from the daily classroom routine. It gave students a chance to test and try out their physical development skills.

On February 18th, 2016 students of pre nursery presented the sounds they have learnt at school. They looked adorable dancing on the alphabet song while wearing headbands showcasing letters and sashes showing their vocabulary. This performance was greatly appreciated by parents who felt proud to see their little ones perform so well on stage.

Making Sense of our Senses:

In accordance with the topic of ‘senses’ being learnt at school, on 15th February, the little munchkins of pre nursery performed on a song while presenting the five senses and related them to the respective body parts. Other activities were also arranged for them to explore their senses like using play dough, sound box, popcorn activity etc.

Colours all Around:
As students of pre-nursery were learning about colours and their presence around them. On 16th February 2016, they presented a ravishing display of colours in their morning assembly. Attired with

colourful headbands and pom poms, they sang and danced on the beats of the colour song presenting each colour beautifully. The environment was adorned with colourful balloons and tinsels.
Walking Through the Jungle February 17th, 2016 A scene of a jungle was depicted by the tiny tots of pre nursery as some of them were dressed as animals while others as little explorers, who set off on their jungle expedition and came across different animals. The children performed wonderfully on the famous poem ‘Walking through the Jungle’ while parents clapped and cheered for their little ones.

The winner of ‘Llittle Aart’ competition was Fariq Adnan.----- The competition was titled my super hero. Fariq chose to draw his PE teacher and won the prize of honor and his drawing was selected for the Llittle Aart exhibition .

The three students who won the bronze medals in the International Kangaroo Math Competition are: Muhammad Ahmed Class 1 D, Tahoora Khalid Class 1 D and Mohammad Khizar Khan Class 1 E Bhaloo Ki Salgirah
On March 22nd 2016, students of class one had the culmination of their Urdu project, “Bhaloo Ki Salgirah” in accordance with their reader, ‘Shararat Bhare Tuhfay’. During this project they learnt to plan and create lists of guests, menus, invitations, birthday caps, gift-wrapping etc. The ambience was decorated by balloons and tinsels and concluded with a cake cutting ceremony to celebrate the birthday of their beloved ‘Bhaloo’ amidst cheers of laughter and fun.

Buffet Table activity In relation to their social studies lesson on practicing rules and manners, the students of grade one had a Buffet Table Activity on March 21st in order to know and practice the importance of table manners. They were encouraged to take turns, take small helpings, small bites etc. this gave them the practical experience of behaving appropriately while eating in small and large gatherings.

Spelling Bee March 21st, 2016 In order to improve the vocabulary and language of students, a Spelling Bee competition was held for KGs. Students were asked to learn spellings of different vocabulary words and the Super Spellers were awarded certificates.

Annual Concert: th
11 May marked the day of our most successful Annual Concert. The function was a wonderful blend of skits, drama and song. It was amazing to see the students performing with finesse and confidence. They proved themselves as superb performers on stage.

The year passed by very past, but our students learnt many lessons and throughout all of these activities they have demonstrated great character. I am truly proud of each and every child and their achievements. In the end, I would like to wish you all the very best for a safe and enjoyable summer vacation. Parentsdo spend more time with your children and make their childhood something they cherish for life!
