Newsletter BKI F-10/4-1 Volume 7, Issue 1 (Sep - Dec 2015) Greeting Parents and Students! We, at BKI F10/4-1 have had a fantabulous start to the year. It gives me great pleasure to announce that we have expanded our operations to include Class 1 this year in our very own school premises. Let me take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to our wonderful parents who supported us at every step of the way in ensuring that this new chapter i.e. the development of class 1 sections in our school took off smoothly and efficiently. With your continuous cooperation and the energy of our staff, the settling in phase in September was very helpful for all our returning students in order to get acclimatized to their new learning environments. It was a pleasure to witness joyful reunions of our students, slightly apprehensive yet excited and motivated for newer challenges and newer horizons to explore. Let me also take this opportunity to welcome our Brand new students and Parents of Bubbles and Pre Nursery! A wonderful feeling to know that you selected us to be a fundamental part of your child’s life. Parents, we share your enthusiasm for this new journey into your child’s future. Together we will achieve high goals and set excellent standards of learning and care for our children at BKI F10/4-1. You have already witnessed many thrilling events this term. You will see much much more, not only how the school executes elements of fun but consistently engages students in stimulating activities that will challenge them Headmistress, academically and develop them holistically!! We ask for your continuous support and cooperation in instilling in your children a structured and disciplined routine, a passion Mrs. Mehwish Ali Shigri for learning. Do keep encouraging your children, respect their individuality, and build on their self-esteem and self-confidence. Ostentatious 40th Beaconhouse Birthday Celebrations Nov 4th, 2015 marked the “40th Anniversary of the “Beaconhouse School System”. Established in November 1975 as the Les Anges Montessori Academy for toddlers, Beaconhouse has since grown into a global network of private schools, institutes, and universities, imparting distinctive and meaningful education to students from Pre School to Post-Graduation. BKI F10 / 4-1 proudly celebrated 40 magnificent and successful years of BSS history. It was one of the most memorable events held in every region and every branch of BSS .

Bubbles Environment Bubbles Playgroup at BKI F10/4-1 has seen much success this past year . With 19 of our little tots who have graduated to Pre nursery this year, Bubbles continues to thrive and progress in every aspect of fun and learning .We invite all our parents to visit Bubbles and witness and experience first hand, an environment which is rich in every way, focused on the best student learning outcomes even as young as 24 months. It is a great pride to expand our levels at BKI F-10/4-1 to include Class One from Sep’ 2015. The curriculum for class one has been revised which has increased the opportunities for Beaconites to develop both academically and holistically.

Culmination Day “My Mum Is Lost” - Nov’15
Class One participated in the IKLC International Kangaroo Linguistic Contest held on Thursday 18th November, 2015.
Class one celebrated the culmination day of their project Unit 5 “My Mum is Lost” where they prepared their portfolios along with the flyers using MS publisher. Students presented a role play on their reader on the culmination day and the parents enjoyed their children’s performance.

Teachers’ Segment English Language Development (ELD) Programme BKI F-10/4-1 continues to thrive in the professional development of its staff. A brand new initiative “English Language Development (ELD) Programme” has been launched for KG and Class One teachers to further enhance their “English Language Proficiency” based on observations and feedback by the ELD facilitators. The programme focuses on ensuring that the staff uses proficient English to interact with students.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) BSS believes in empowering teachers to be facilitators in their classrooms therefore an ongoing School based professional development (SBPD) programme which is based on 3C’s: Connect, Collaborate and Contribute is taking place in every branch. Peer Observations, Co – Teaching and Mentoring are some of the initiatives related to SBPD which are successfully underway at BKI F-10/4-1. School Based Professional Development (SBPD)
This year also, BKI F-10/4-1 offered courses for teacher’s Professional Development. Beginner Teacher’s Programme (BTP) We congratulate new teachers for completing BTP this year.
Educational Technology Ambassador (ETA) Initiative Enhanced Learning Environment (ELE) successfully runs into the 3rd year in our branch. In order to compliment ELE, another initiative called “The Educational Technology Ambassador (ETA)” was undertaken across ELE branches. This year, our very own staff member excelling in Educational technology, Mrs. Erum Rizwan was selected as the branch’s ETA. Erum has effectively arranged extensive sessions for all staff to guide them in integrating ET in teaching and learning domains. Erum with her skills looks forward to being a consistent support for teachers.

October 21st, 2015, Global Dignity Day and the 70th Anniversary of the United Nations was celebrated across all Beaconhouse schools in 9 countries. BKI F-10/4-1 celebrated the day with great enthusiasm. 100% students displayed roles of various professions thus depicted the message “We believe in human dignity”. They presented flowers, chocolates and cards to the support staff. A blue wall was painted in the school where all creative posters made by the parents and students were displayed. Our parents dedicated lovely comments to appreciate the efforts of the team of BKI F-10/4-1 on the "Dignity Wall".
