COVENTRY PUBLIC LIBRARY LAUNCHES SUMMER MOBILE LIBRARY Coventry Public Library is excited to announce that we have received a grant from the Rhode Island Offi ce of Library and Information Services (OLIS), which will be used to launch a pilot program this summer for a Mobile Library. Our Mobile Library van will bring books, library programs, and services to locations all over Coventry during the months of July and August, 2021. This project was made possible in part by a grant from the RI Offi ce of Library & Information Services using funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

We are open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10AM-2PM, unless there is a town-wide parking ban in effect. We offer standard amounts of core groceries based on household size as well as self serve selections of produce, bread and assorted other non-core grocery items we have on hand. 9TH ANNUAL REMEMBER DOUG WALK A Walk honoring the memory of Douglas Auger will take place on September 12 at Goddard State Park in Warwick. Registration begins at 9AM, Walk to follow at 10AM. Meet at the Carousel (signs & balloons mark the way). Hot & cold drinks are provided, as well as breakfast foods, fruit, goodies for kids & treats for our 4-legged friends who love to walk. All proceeds benefi t the Coventry Teachers Alliance Scholarship Fund in memory of Doug. Scholarships are awarded to CHS Seniors to assist with College, Trade School or any post secondary education. To date, over $75,000 (with matching funds from the CTA) has been donated in Doug’s name. This Event was established to honor Douglas Auger, who passed away tragically just after his 2012 graduation from Coventry High School. This is a rain or shine event. CRAFTS AT THE WEST WARWICK PUBLIC LIBRARY West Warwick Public Library, 1043 Main Street, West Warwick is offering the following crafts: Twine Coasters (Adult Craft) on August 25 at 5PM. Materials are provided, but if specifi c color or design is desired, you may bring your own supplies. RPG Mini Painting on August 27. RPG miniatures are small models used for characters in games like Dungeons & Dragons. Participants will receive one medium character mini for their own, and may paint additional minis for the library collection. COVENTRY PUBLIC LIBRARY HOMEBOUND SERVICES The Library Homebound Service is a program designed to assist Coventry residents who have a temporary or permanent physical impairment that would prevent them from coming to the Library. The Homebound Coordinator visits private homes on a monthly basis and will deliver books (large type or regular print), DVD’s, audiobooks & periodicals to the patron. SPRING/ SUMMER HOURS: Tuesdays 3-5PM for anyone with the last name that begins with A-K, Thursdays 3-5PM for last names beginning with L-Z & Fridays 3-5PM for Seniors (60+). Seniors may shop either your alphabet day or Senior day, not both.
