Beach Baker are delighted to be working in partnership with Cooper & Tanner to recruit a Rural Surveyor to join their Professional team at the Standerwick Office.

INTRODUCTION We are estate agents, property, antique and livestock auctioneers and residential, agricultural and commercial specialists covering Somerset and Wiltshire. We also offer a comprehensive letting service.

For over 100 years Cooper and Tanner have been well recognised in the West Country as the landed property professionals and auctioneers.

We operate eleven offices in Somerset and Wiltshire, providing professional estate agency and surveying services to the residential, agricultural and commercial property sectors. We sell property by private treaty and by auction, we also run successful sale rooms where we specialise in antiques and vintage items. Our outside sales deal with tools, equipment and machinery. We provide housing surveys and professional advice on all agricultural matters including livestock auctions.

We are fortunate to serve property and farming clients in a very beautiful and favoured area that encompasses the towns and villages of Castle Cary, Frome, Glastonbury,

Wedmore, Cheddar, Shepton Mallet, Standerwick, Street, Bridgwater, Midsomer Norton, Warminster and Wells, taking in

the Mendip Hills, Somerset Levels, Wiltshire Downs and the Blackmore Vale. We are a member firm of the Royal Institution

of Chartered Surveyors and Property Mark.

RURAL EXPERTS Cooper and Tanner rural department has offices based in Standerwick and Glastonbury. Partner Tim Hector together with Chris Eden head up the north of the region assisted by Claire Pollett, Tori Osborne and Sam Haskell covering Frome, Warminster, Trowbridge and Midsomer Norton areas whilst Managing Partner Nick Oliver covers the Glastonbury, Wells, Street and Castle Cary areas, assisted by George Trippick and Jake Smith. Our clients include farmers and landowners, private clients, investors, local authorities and trusts.

JOB DESCRIPTION We have a fantastic opportunity for a Rural Surveyor to join our Professional team at our Standerwick Office. You will join an established and knowledgeable team providing a wide range of services to our clients. Due to our location, and the nature of our Firm, this position boasts varied day to day working.

Main Purpose: Providing rural professional service to a private client based at the Standerwick Office, which is located on the Somerset/ Wiltshire border. To increase the client base, office profitability and promote the Firm to the best of your ability.

You will be primarily engaged in Rural Practice which will include the following:

General property and land management.

•

Claims for compensation, subsidies and grants.

•

Valuations for all purposes, both formal and informal including bank, probate, IHT planning, Pension etc.

•

Planning applications where experience and understanding allows.

•

Involvement in property auctions and sales/rentals by private treaty as required.

•

Additionally, this position comes with the opportunity to sell at a livestock market if desirable.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS The successful candidate will be RICS and/or

CAAV qualified, and will demonstrate: • A good knowledge of property and rural land matters and carry a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
