You can also make a donation to have their carbon footprint offset through various online programs that plant trees, improve supply chains, support green energy projects and more.

• WRAPPING: One of the biggest areas for waste during the holiday season is wrapping. Wrapping a gift in paper that will just be thrown away is not always the best option for the environment. Luckily there are some eco-friendly wrapping alternatives you can try this year. You can wrap your gift in old newspapers, paper bags or extra paper around the house. Use what you already have first. You can also put your gift in a reusable shopping bag. Now your loved one has an extra reusable tote to bring with them to the grocery store. You could also put gifts in reusable containers, wrap them in blankets as an extra gift or fabric samples they could use in their next craft project.
