Fred™ Designed in collaboration with Jaime Hayon The latest collaboration between Jaime Hayon and Fritz Hansen, Fred™ – meaning ‘peaceful’ in Danish – is a casual nickname and nod to the comfort and good vibes that accompany the chair wherever it’s used. Inspired by both Scandinavian and Spain design influences, the lounge chair strikes the perfect balance between Danish heritage and Jaime Hayon’s modern, playful aesthetic. Fred’s open, low silhouette is elegant from every angle and has a contemporary look. Decorative joints with gently rounded edges are assembled by hand in a nod to traditional Danish craftsmanship. Wide and flat armrests embrace and support the body, as does the curved backrest. The seat is designed for upright seating while socializing, reading or relaxing.

Lily™ 50th Anniversary Edition Original Design by Arne Jacobsen On the 50th anniversary of the design, Fritz Hansen introduces the Lily™ chair in sculptural Walnut veneer with classic chromed legs. Natural Walnut makes this special anniversary edition both unique and historical. Until now, the Lily chair has never been released with a natural veneer exterior because it is extremely difficult to make the curved armrests without cracking the exterior veneer. The armrest angles and wood grain are complex compliments. When executed perfectly, they converge beautifully. The Lily 50th Anniversary Edition is available with or without armrests in natural Walnut veneer with chromed legs. The interior veneer layers are beech wood. Every chair has a special anniversary tag mounted under its seat.

N02™ Recycle Chair Designed in collaboration with studio nendo N02™ Recycle is a new, all-purpose chair made of upcycled plastic, household waste – it is Fritz Hansen’s first chair produced in colored, recycled Polypropylene. The strong, stackable chair is designed in collaboration with Japanese studio nendo and inspired by a simple crease of paper on the designer’s work table. The folded paper translated into a crease in the chair’s shell that makes the design support the sitter’s upper and lower back. The chair’s elegant shell is made of circular plastic, meaning it is made of recycled plastic that can be recycled again if necessary. The plastic used for N02 Recycle comes from household, plastic waste collected, processed and upcycled in central Europe, reducing transportation. 7 shell color options are inspired by earthy, warm tones in Scandinavian nature. These colors and multiple leg options make N02 Recycle a strong solution for dining rooms, home offices, meeting rooms or as extra, multi-purpose seating.

Vico Duo Designed in collaboration with Vico Magistretti Fritz Hansen reissues the Vico Duo chair in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Vico Magistretti’s birth. Magistretti designed the chair in 1997, sitting among his sketches in Fritz Hansen’s design department. He was keen to collaborate with Fritz Hansen and leverage its expertise and tradition in veneer. The chair is simple with tight lines. A loose ‘z’ line drawn across paper inspired the chair’s backward armrests – an unusual element that intentionally balances the design. The armrests and back legs are one piece of steel – another unique aspect of the design. New arm pads add comfort and black powder coated bases add a contemporary look, making Vico Duo perfectly suited for agile workspace and hospitality design.

The AJ Trolley is the latest re-discovery and evolution to spring from the rich depths of the Fritz Hansen archive. More than fifty years after its birth, the design fits right in with modern taste and styles. Legendary Danish designer, Arne Jacobsen, designed this elegant trolley for his tea, but it was never produced for the public. As a bar cart, serving trolley or side table, the mobile table is versatile with a sophisticated, architectural edge. The Fritz Hansen design team considers this piece a hidden gem within Jacobsen’s portfolio.

Ikeru Vase Designed in Collaboration with Jaime Hayon Ikeru vases by Jaime Hayon are simple designs for flower arrangements, inspired by the Japanese art of ‘Ikebana’. Metal flutes hold individual flowers for a full appreciation of every flower from many angles. Water in the glass trays below keep flowers fresh. Overall, the designs are transparent and direct in their intention to honor every flower placed within them. Ikeru is an invitation to appreciate nature or to create an arrangement to share. Available in low ($161) and high ($130) versions.
