Men’s Division 2

EXCELSIOR

Upcoming Saturday, November 2:

WaterDogs (22) v (27) Aspen
Saturday November 9: Haggis v Waterdogs
Boulder v Barbarians
It ain’t over until it’s officially over…
With either one match (Aspen and Barbarians) or two matches (WaterDogs, Haggis, Boulder) left in league competition Aspen, after somewhat of a surprising loss to an upstart Boulder XV on the RugbyDay last, have work to do in order to secure head of the very bright second division class. That jobdate for the Gents will be at the StoveTop on the upcoming RugbyDay, 1pm MST. Any thing less than a bonus point victory for the travelers in that match means that current numbers 2 and 3, Dawgs and Haggis resp., could very well wind up in a first-place decider when they complete
their schedules in Park City on the 9th of the month. Puppies only lost to Aspen early in the season by a converted try, so expect the fixture on Saturday to be a closely-run, lively affair and a grand display of sport. I’m goin’, you goin’?
So, Aspen get a 5-point victory on Saturday, they win the league. If’n WaterDogs come good on the day, and of course Haggis take 5 v Boulder, then the contest in Park City on the 9th will determine the league… most likely! Have to see.

And here is your hint: E = U answer next week
Denver Highlanders have taken the lead in the division with an unblemished, 6-0-0, slate after thorough defeat of Denver Barbarians at The Jake. It will be until next spring until the division champion will be determined as all clubs have a brace of fixtures left to finish their campaigns then. It will also be either the current frontrunners, Highlanders, or the second placed Queen City Rams, who will take the division. With a date on the trot at Northern Colorado last weekend in March and then host duty v Colorado Springs April 12th, the division is the Highlanders to lose.
Should Highlanders stumble at the finish, Queen City will be sure to capitalize, as they complete their campaign v Barbos and Quins on the StoveTop at Infinity next year.
