Trauma and emergency St. Joseph is the only Level II trauma center between Houston, Temple, Austin and San Antonio. College Station Medical Center traces its beginning to the city of Bryan, where it began as Bryan Hospital in 1931. In 1987, the hospital moved to its current location on Rock Prairie Road. Throughout the 83 years of its existence, the hospital has grown and developed, focusing on advanced medical care for the Brazos Valley and increasing its relevancy to the community.

Today, College Station Medical Center (the MED) is a 167-bed, Level III trauma facility with an assessed property value exceeding $110 million, making it one of the largest taxpayers in College Station and a top five taxpayer in Brazos County. A benevolent community partner, the hospital supports numerous civic and local charities, is the official healthcare provider of Texas A&M Athletics and provides approximately $38 million of its annual collections in underwriting charity care and helping patients and families with financial assistance.

Over the past several years, the hospital has focused on developing the medical infrastructure and technology in and around its campus and recruiting primary and specialty care physicians. The hospital has a medical staff exceeding 650, with over 100 physicians located on campus. With over 300,000 square feet of medical office space, the MED offers one of the most advanced medical corridors in the region.

The MED works closely with the physicians of College Station Medical Associates to provide residents of the Brazos Valley with a full continuum of healthcare services, from primary care and internal medicine to orthopedics and cardiovascular surgery. This includes the recent expansion of the College Station MedPlus family of convenient care clinics to the Northgate District, within walking distance of Texas A&M University. MedPlus clinics are designed to offer a convenient solution when faced with an illness or injury that needs prompt attention. And unlike many urgent care facilities where you may receive up to four bills for a single visit, MedPlus patients only receive one bill for all services offered in most cases.

In the spring of 2014, the MED relocated College Station Orthopaedics and its outpatient therapy center to the new Aerofit Health & Wellness facility, introducing a new continuum of care for orthopedic patients. Individuals who have an injury or illness are able to see an orthopedic specialist for treatment, undergo outpatient therapy to regain mobility and function, then transition to wellness services at Aerofit to maintain their health and wellness across their lifetime. This follows a recent $22.5 million expansion and renovation project that included six additional exam rooms in the Emergency Department and an expansion of the Women’s Pavilion, including new labor and delivery suites, ante- and postpartum rooms and rooms specifically designed for gynecological surgery patients. The expansion also brought the area’s first and only neonatal intensive care unit with all private rooms.

College Station Medical Center has led many first time medical advancements in the area, including the introduction of the community’s only Level III NICU, advanced interventional cardiology and surgical robotics. In fact, surgeons at College Station Medial Center were the first in the Brazos Valley to offer single-incision robotic surgery, a breakthrough that allows surgeons to perform many surgeries through one small incision hidden in your belly button.

Caitlin is a board-certified Physician Assistant who treats patients of all ages with acne, eczema, skin cancer, psoriasis, and other skin conditions.

After earning a BS in Biology from Texas A&M, Caitlin went on to earn her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at Baylor College of Medicine, graduating with Highest Honors. After finishing school, Caitlin immediately joined an Internal Medicine practice in Houston.

But her love of Texas A&M and dermatology brought her back to College Station. Caitlin grew up in San Antonio, but happily calls herself an Aggie. She is certified by the National Commission of Physician Assistants, and licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.
