The St. Joseph Trauma Program is one of only a handful in the nation that operates both a ground and air ambulance service. College Station Medical Center

College Station Medical Center traces its beginning to the city of Bryan, where it began as Bryan Hospital in 1931. In 1987, the hospital moved to its current location on Rock Prairie Road.

Throughout the 82 years of its existence, the hospital has grown and developed, focusing on advanced medical care for the Brazos Valley and increasing its relevancy to the community.

Today, College Station Medical Center (The MED) is a 167-bed, level III trauma facility with an assessed property value exceeding $110 million, making it one of the largest taxpayers in College Station and a top five taxpayer in Brazos County. A benevolent community partner, the hospital supports numerous civic and local charities, is the official healthcare provider of Texas A&M Athletics and provides an estimated 17 percent of its annual collections in underwriting charity care and helping patients and families with financial assistance.

Over the past several years, the hospital has focused on developing the medical infrastructure and technology in and around its campus and recruiting primary and specialty care physicians. The hospital has a medical staff exceeding 500, with over 100 physicians located on campus. With over 300,000 square feet of medical office space, The MED offers one of the most advanced medical corridors in the region.

The MED recently completed a $22.5 million expansion and renovation project that included six additional exam rooms in the Emergency Department and an expansion of the Women’s Pavilion, including new labor and delivery suites, ante- and postpartum rooms and rooms specifically designed for gynecological surgery patients. The expansion also brought the area’s first and only neonatal intensive care unit with all private rooms. College Station Medical Center has led many first time medical advancements in the area, including the introduction of neonatology, surgical robotics and advanced interventional cardiology.

The MED offers advanced care through its Accredited Cycle IV Chest Pain Center and Accredited Sleep Center for both adults and pediatrics, and is home to the 30-Minute ER Service Pledge. A partnership with the BVCAA introduced College Station’s first women and children’s clinic within the framework of a federally qualified health center. The MED recently introduced fertility medicine and maternal fetal medicine to the area by collaborating with Advanced Fertility Center of Texas and The Woman’s Hospital of Texas. In 2012 the MED became an in-network provider for the Scott & White Health Plan.

A non-profit collaborative health care system, Scott & White Healthcare is one of the nation’s largest multi-specialty group practice systems providing patient care at more than 65 clinics and 13 hospitals and hospital partners throughout Central Texas. The Scott & White Healthcare – College Station Region is comprised of two acute care hospitals located in Brenham and College Station (opened in August) and nine clinic locations. It is part of the growing number of Scott & White Healthcare clinics and hospitals serving Central Texas and the Brazos Valley.

Scott & White Hospital – College Station, which opened on Aug. 19, is the latest example of Scott & White Healthcare’s commitment to high quality, accessible patient care. Located at the intersection of Texas Highway 6 and Rock Prairie Road, this five-story, 143-bed acute care facility spans 403,000 square feet. The hospital houses an emergency department, comprehensive cardiac services, a neonatal intensive care unit and many other specialty services.

The adjacent Scott & White Clinic – Rock Prairie is a 125,000-squarefoot facility that serves as an anchor to the medical complex. Clinic services include a neuroscience center, a cancer center, women and children’s services, orthopedic care, as well as other specialties, all supported by state-of-theart imaging technology and other diagnostic capabilities. The Rock Prairie clinic will help answer the need to provide care for the ever-growing number of patients in the Brazos Valley, as well as offer support to the many new providers joining the Scott & White Hospital – College Station. The Rock Prairie clinic will add to Scott & White’s number of other area clinics, which will remain open. The entire hospital campus project is estimated as a $165 million investment, and will add over 400 jobs to the community.

The Scott & White clinic is a multi-specialty group practice that provides high quality, comprehensive care for the entire family, and has nine clinic locations throughout the Brazos Valley, including the new Rock Prairie facility. Each of the nine clinics are connected through a state-of-the-art electronic medical record system to provide seamless care throughout the region. Located at 1600 University Drive East, Scott & White Clinic University Drive offers convenient and comprehensive care for men, women and children. This clinic houses over 30 medical specialties, including family medicine, pediatrics and cosmetic surgery. Located in south College Station, the Scott & White Clinic - Arrington Road houses four family medicine physicians, as well as a full-service pharmacy, on-site laboratory services and diagnostic x-ray capabilities. In April of 2013, Scott & White added a new clinic facility in Bryan. The Scott & White Clinic – Boonville is located near the intersection of Highway 6 and Austin’s Colony Parkway. The 11,325 square-foot combined family medicine and physical therapy clinic features 12 exam rooms, a complete physical therapy gym and laboratory services.

Scott & White Healthcare has also expanded services to Brenham. Scott & White Hospital - Brenham includes a 60-bed acute care hospital, as well as a 128-bed long-term care facility. Along with the hospital, there are two clinics, Scott & White - Highway 290 and Scott & White - Medical Parkway.

Scott & White Healthcare – Brenham offers internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology and orthopedic surgery. Several visiting specialists also 10

provide services in Brenham. These services include allergy, sleep medicine and pain management.

Scott & White is also the principal clinical teaching facility affiliated with the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, with more than 900 physicians and scientists. As the College of Medicine expands its class size over the next several years, the Scott & White - College Station Clinic senior physician staff will continue to help teach the future doctors.
