Then her mom needs help investigating a crime in the town, but suddenly the body disappears… I really like how Daisy doesn't really listen to her mom when her mom said for her to not help with the case, but she is determined to investigate the crime. This week, the Lady Tigers faced off against Platte Valley on Thursday, Sept. 10, with a close final score of 10-12. They were supposed to have a game on Tuesday, Sept. 8, as well, but it was cancelled due to heat. While it didn’t end in a win, the Ladies are able to focus on the positive. Junior Gretchyn Bowers, number 2, said, “The best thing that happened on Thursday was I almost hit a home run.” This week, the Softball team has also been getting ready for the Maysville tournament on Saturday, Sept. 12. They have been practicing teamwork and pitching. The week isn’t over for our Lady Tigers yet, though. The Softball team has a tournament in Maysville tomorrow. Coach Haley says, “I encourage everybody to come and watch us; we’d love support.” Next week, the Lady Tigers have another busy week. Where is MS Softball? By: Lauraly Lane

This year, seven girls were willing to play for our Middle School Softball team when their practices started. But, unfortunately, seven wasn’t enough to have a team this year. Coach Horr and Coach Moran decided they couldn’t field a team with only seven. But these girls were told that if they wanted to help the high school team, they were more than welcome to. “The seven girls that showed up every day worked hard and were excited to be there. All of these girls seemed heartbroken when we shared the news that they didn’t have a team.” Coach Moran states, “However these girls can come practice and hopefully they all keep playing softball in the future.” These girls going to the High school Practices can improve their skills, make bonds with the High School players, and help improve the High School team.

What to Watch By: Kiera Kuse

Photo Credit: Pinterest Pictured: A series of unfortunate events.

If you are looking for a dark comedy show to watch, I recommend A Series of Unfortunate Events by Daniel Handler. He is known for writing the book series version of this show, and it was published under the name Lemony Snicket. The show aired on Netflix on January 1, 2019. The series is about the Baudelaire orphans Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. They are investigating their parents' death after a fire... They have a new guardian who is actually evil and wants their family's fortune. This is one of my favorite shows because it's really interesting watching the Baudelaires figure out what happened to their parents and also escape danger at the same time. My favorite part is listening to the beginning song.

The Day the World Stopped Turning: 9/11 By: Laci Burnett

A mere 25 years ago, on September 11, the world stopped in New York City, New York. That morning, terrorists swearing death to all Americans hijacked four commercial airplanes filled with innocent passengers. Women's, children's, and men’s lives were brutally taken due to pure hatred, and it changed America forever. On a Tuesday morning like any other, people walked into work, dropped their kids off at school, and went about their morning as usual. At 8:40 a.m., people were thinking about what their plans for dinner were, how the workday would go, and hustling to get into their office. About 17,400 people walked into the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers that morning. Then, mere six minutes later, tragedy struck.

While it is amazing that these people managed to escape, we can not forget about the estimated 614 lives lost at or above the impact zone. Then, at 9:37 a.m., Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon. All those aboard the hijacked plane, including 11-yearold Asia Cottom and Bernard Brown, 8-year-old Zoe Falkenberg, and 3-year-old Dana Falkenberg, were killed immediately, along with 125 civilian employees and military personnel inside the Pentagon.

Then, when things couldn't seem to get worse, the South Tower collapsed at 9:59 a.m. The North Tower soon followed at 10:28 a.m., setting off tremors At 8:46 a.m., Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower, equivalent to a 2.3 magnitude earthquake. hitting floors 93 through 99, killing all 92 people aboard the flight.
