REIBC awards the RI designation to those professionals who have completed certain in-depth property education and who have specific experience in the real estate business. The RI designation indicates that the person holding the designation is educated, experienced, and connected.

I hear many stories about how an RI needed a Notary and looked up a fellow RI (who is a Notary) and the two were instantly able to help prepare the legal documents for a property conveyance. The advantages of the strong connections among RIs are unmistakable. Many real estate professionals will need the expertise of a BC Notary at some time; it is highly beneficial to both parties if the Notary is also an RI.
