CELEBRATING THE RESIDENTIAL PARK COMMUNITIES FOR 64 YEARS

Symphonic Springsteen featuring ‘Bruce in the USA’ performing with The Desert Symphony By Alison Elsner

M

ore than just another tribute band, this highenergy musical experience is a note-perfect and visually accurate re-creation of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. Bruce in the USA consists of seasoned world-class professional musicians, and this powerhouse band has taken the genre of performance art to a whole new level, making it the world’s No. 1 tribute to the E Street Band’s musical legacy. Performing live with The Desert Symphony, Symphonic Springsteen is a collaboration between the international touring

act Bruce in the USA and veteran music arranger, composer and saxophonist, “Smokin’”Joe Escriba. Starting his musical career at 15, Escriba found himself in the mainstream media by age 30. His foray into symphonic writing came when he scored the feature film “The Tears of a King,” a spiritual telling of the Elvis Presley story. He has since written several scores, some of which are currently touring the global “Pops Orchestra” circuit. Guests will be humming along for two and a half hours to hit after hit of poetic lyrics and melodies, like “Born to Run,” “Jungleland,” “Thunder Road,” “I’m on Fire,” “Hungry Heart,” “The

River,” “Tougher Than the Rest,” “Secret Garden,” “Atlantic City,” “Glory Days” and many more. The Bruce in the USA show originated on the Las Vegas Strip in 2004 with a debut at Planet Hollywood, creating a fun-filled party atmosphere while leaving viewers in delighted disbelief at the band’s ability to channel the original. Current cast members include Matt Ryan as The Boss (from the world famous “Legends in Concert”), Matthew Sully as Miami Steve, Darryl Jones as The Big Man, Joey Lunsford on piano, Atticus Finch on organ and keys, Darrell Craig Harris on bass and Tommy Anderson on drums. When it comes to The Desert

Symphony, audiences should always expect the extraordinary. Paired with the music of Bruce Springsteen, which draws on musical influences from the reservoir of traditional American popular music, rock and roll, folk, blues, country and soul, attendees will find themselves on a journey filled with passion and excitement. Symphonic Springsteen featuring Bruce in the USA will be performing with The Desert Symphony on Thursday, December 6 at 8 p.m. McCallum Theatre is located at 73000 Fred Waring Drive in Palm Desert.
