McCormick’s Classic Car Auction features roadsters from all eras By Alison Elsner
N
ow in its 32nd year, McCormick’s Car Auction will showcase nearly 600 hot cars, including classics, antiques, muscle cars, European sports cars, trucks and motorcycles. This 65th show on wheels will display showpiece vehicles like a 1953 Chevy Bel Air Con-
vertible, 1931 Chrysler CD DC Phaeton, 1950 Jaguar Mark V, 1964 Porsche 356 SC, 1976 Cadillac Eldorado, 1963 Austin Healey 3000 and dozens and dozens of other rare finds. Many of the auction vehicles are entered as “no reserve,” selling to the highest bidder no matter what the price. Earlier this year, the popular spring event topped $6.37 million
in sales. Founder and proprietor Keith McCormick has created a twice yearly event that has become a Palm Springs institution. Car enthusiasts attend from near and far to do some serious bidding as well as just snap photos and take in the visuals, especially on opening day when the auction is free and open to the public. The collectible cars represent a chronological history
of our modern era in transportation and culture, providing an investment opportunity or just great fun for the hobbyist. McCormick’s Classic Car Auction is held November 16-18 at the Palm Springs Convention Center, 277 N. Avenida Caballeros in Palm Springs. Visit classic-carauction.com for tickets and schedule.
