About Us Desert Entertainer
The monthly Desert Entertainer is the desert’s most comprehensive, up to date, informative entertainment publication. The Desert Entertainer is proud to be entering it’s 14th year in the Coachella Valley. Our focus is to publish an exciting entertainment publication that offers a wide variety of entertainment options for locals and visitors to the Coachella Valley.
“The News” Desert Mobile Home News
Serving 110 Mobile Home and RV Park communities in the Coachella, Morongo and Yucca Valley for over 60 years. “The News” is a household tradition. Distributed through racks in manufactured home parks, the weekly “The News” is also available at many area business locations and senior centers.
Brehm Communications Inc.
The company has a long and continuous history in the newspaper industry, having been founded in November of 1919 with the purchase of the Fort Madison (Iowa) Evening Democrat. At present Brehm publishes daily, weekly, semi-weekly newspapers, shoppers and niche publications located in the states of California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah. This growth, in large part, has been due to the effort and loyalty of our employees who enjoy their work and believe in their products. It is also a reflection of the Brehm family’s philosophy that we are in a people industry-dedicated not only to those we serve but also those who perform the service.

Coachella Valley at a Glance In 2016 the region had 62.2% average hotel occupancy and that was up 4.2% vs. the prior year. Average room rates were also up 7.4%. The “hotel visitor” is a little bit younger, which is kind of interesting, and fairly affluent. The average visitor stay is 8 days. 15% of visitors are in the 18-34 age range. 27% is in the 55-64 age range. The largest number of visitors 43% are 65 years or older and generally stay in a second home in the region. The combination of strong convention business and leisure travel into the Coachella Valley has boosted hotel occupancy, room rates and activity at Palm Springs International Airport. Palm Springs Airport was on target to hit a record two million passengers. Air Canada Rouge, JetBlue and American have stepped up seasonal service, making a trip to Palm Springs easier for anyone in Canada, Chicago and New York. Airlines such as Alaska, American, SkyWest and West Jet had significant market share at PSP; all posted strong passenger activity gains.
The Desert Entertainer readers are not only local residents but the visitors who come to the Coachella Valley looking for what to do while they are here. Each publication features information on entertainment, dining, events (from small events to large events), nightlife, shopping, attractions and much more. Not only do the concierge at the hotels hand out the Desert Entertainer to their guests, but we are also handed out at the Palm Springs Airport (about 2 million passengers a year), the visitor centers, restaurants, retail locations and more. The Desert Entertainer has something for everyone from pool parties throughout the valley to performances at the McCallum Theater.
