Palm Springs International Short Fest Secrets and suspense, dating and divorcing, identity and psychology

By Alison Elsner For DMHN Indulging in the delicious films being screened at the Palm Springs International Short Fest, coming up June 20 – 26, is like savoring those first bites of a soft, gooey, carmelchocolate brownie with fresh whipped cream after suffering through a strict

diet. The 10-30 minute film shorts will make you laugh, cry and think. They’re like brain candy that’s healthy for your mind and spirit. A few weeks ago, we wrote about the Short Fest, which presents hundreds of delightful “film-ettes” grouped by theme along with film parties, filmmaker and actor meet and greets, behind the scenes educational panels

and a virtual reality lounge which is free to the public. We are now able to bring updates on the line up of 338 spectacular films which have officially been announced for the summer program. The Festival takes place at the Camelot Theatre in Palm Springs, and tickets are now on sale for passes, 6 Packs and Opening and Closing

Night Awards Ceremony tickets. If you aren’t able to physically make it over to the theater, believe it or not you can watch some of the films online NOW and vote for your choice, out of five featured presentations, to win the top prize at the Closing Night Awards Ceremony on June 25 (visit www.psfilmfest.org/2017-shortfest/shortfestonline-2017 and vote by June 23).
