Modernism Week Fall Preview Featuring tours, educational programs and receptions

M

odernism Week’s 2016 Fall Preview will take place Oct. 21-23, at various locations in the Coachella Valley. Many events still have tickets available, although some are already sold out. Fall Preview events that still have availability include the popular Premier Double Decker Architecture Bus Tours, walking tours of the notable Palm Springs neighborhoods, architectural talks, nightly parties, and a host of other events. The weekend’s events provide attendees with a wide-ranging sample of the more than 250 events and activities being planned for the annual 11-day festival in Feb. 2017. Tickets may be purchased at modernismweek.com. Highlights of the weekend include the Modernism Show Early Buying Preview Reception on Friday, the Saturday evening cocktail reception honoring famed Palm Springs architect E. Stewart Williams, and the popular Palm Springs Modernism Show and Sale on Saturday and Sunday. “Many of our best tours and events still have tickets available,” said Lisa Vossler Smith, Executive Director of Modernism Week. “During this three-day Fall Preview you can get a taste of the hundreds of tours, talks, cocktail parties, and educational programs that we will feature in our spring festival.” Fall Preview events that still have availability include: Tours of Iconic Palm Springs Residences: Frank Sinatra’s “Twin

The Fall Preview kicks off on Friday night with a festive Opening Night Party and Early Buying Preview Reception at the Modernism Show & Sale at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The popular Show and Sale, which offers important 20th and 21st century objects, furniture, art and textiles from more than 40 premier national and international decorative and fine arts dealers, continues on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are available in advance at modernismweek.com or at the door Friday night during the opening reception. Weekend show hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
