Free Fall Concerts Return to Palm Desert

he approach of autumn brings cool temperatures and even cooler sounds to Civic Center Park with the return of Palm Desert’s free Fall Concerts where Palm Desert residents and visitors can enjoy live music under the stars and taste tempting treats from food trucks. The excitement kicks off at the Civic Center Park Amphitheater at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, with a performance by Oingo Boingo tribute band Dead Man’s Party. Featuring some of Southern
Leftover Cuties California’s finest musicians, the eight-piece band was formed to recreate the same level of performance that made Oingo Boingo a phenomenon. The band consists of a lead vocalist, lead and rhythm guitar, bass, drums, tenor and baritone sax, trumpet, and keys. On stage from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday in October, the Fall Concerts will feature a variety of talented musical acts designed to please music lovers of all ages and tastes. The City extends its thanks to the Desert Recreation District
for its support of this year’s Fall Concert Series. Other concert series performances include traditional Irish and folk music from The Reelers (Oct. 13), fun reggae and ska beats from The Debonaires (Oct. 20), and the unique and heartwarming indie pop sounds of Leftover Cuties (October 27). The debut of Fall Concerts also means the return of food trucks to Civic Center Park. Concertgoers are encouraged to sample the trucks’ mouth-watering mobile
culinary creations or bring picnic baskets along with their blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the shows. Alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited.
