Palm Desert Aquatic Center Expands Fitness Options T
he end of summer is fast approaching but Palm Desert Aquatic Center (PDAC) isn’t slowing down. August marks the introduction of Restorative Yoga, taking place indoors at the facility, and participants in the 3rd annual Y Be Fit Palm Desert Challenge have started training at the pool. In addition to the recreational swim areas of water slides, splash playgrounds, and diving boards, swim lessons also continue in August, with sign-ups open. The new Restorative Yoga classes are now available every Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. and every Thursday evening at 6 p.m. Restorative Yoga is a gentle yoga that involves minimal poses supported by props that allow complete relaxation and rest. Whether the attendee is recovering from injury, illness or lack of flexibility, everyone is welcome. The cost is $15 per class or $99 for a 10-session pass. PDAC provides yoga mats and props. No prior yoga experience is required. Because of limited space reservations can be made by calling (760) 565-7467.
