2nd Annual Lighting of the Trees Tis the Season help the Homeless Youth Project benefitting the Palm Springs Unified School District’s Homeless & Needy Children program. The El Gato Skateboard Classic has agreed to help out through their “Legends Give Back” program. The Skateboard Classic begins the following day and includes skateboard legend Tony Hawk who is also the Community Grand Marshall for the annual Palm Springs Festival of Lights parade on Saturday, December 5, at 5:45 p.m., on Palm Canyon Drive, in Palm Springs.
Everyone is invited to kick off the holidays with the second annual lighting of the Christmas Trees at the downtown Village Green in Palm Springs. The event is free and takes place on Friday, December 4, at 5 p.m., at 221 South Palm Canyon Drive,
Palm Springs. In addition to the tree lighting and festivities, P.S. Resorts and the Rotary Club of Palm Springs are coordinating the donation of 90 skateboards and helmets to students in the Palm Springs Unified School District. The event will include caroling from the Boys and Girls Club
of Palm Springs, complimentary hot chocolate from Ristretto, and of course, a visit from Santa! The featured Christmas Trees are from Norm’s Christmas Trees and are inspired by Rotary International’s holiday theme “Be a Gift to the World”. This year’s theme will
The Village Green in downtown Palm Springs is the site on which the Palm Springs Historical Society is located along with the McCallum Adobe house, the Cornelia White “Little House”, Ruddy’s 1930 General Store, and the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum. The museums will be open to the public on the evening of the tree lightings.
