Hired to serve and protect our communities while putting their own lives at risk each and every day they put the uniform on. In most cases, police officers do not stop serving once the uniform is off; the call of duty is in their blood. As the daughter of a police officer, I grew up learning at a very early age to be observant to life around me, be confident and not portray a victim, and to help others in need.
