UNIT 3

The Solar System and Beyond OVERVIEW It was billions of years ago that our solar system formed from a nebula, a cloud of dust and gas, like this one. Even now, solar systems are being born within nebulae throughout our Milky Way galaxy and other galaxies nearby. How do scientists explore the universe through time and space? What is the role of gravity throughout the universe? In this unit, you will find out gravity’s role in the formation of the solar system and in the patterns you still see today. You will also model gravity’s role beyond the solar system, in the Milky Way Galaxy and other galaxies around us.
