What a wonderful year 2025 has been it's truly amazing how quickly it has flown by Life certainly moves with great swiftness This past week’s Thanksgiving Day Brunch and activities were a fantastic time enjoyed by so many Ocean Edge is such a special place, and the Club and I remain deeply grateful for all our members. AGRONOMY
As we move deeper into the late-fall season, our team has remained focused on several key improvement projects across the golf course in addition to our routine daily maintenance In the weeks ahead, we will continue transitioning into our late-season program, which includes major leaf cleanup throughout the property, mowing down the fescue areas for winter, limbing up select trees to improve sunlight and airflow, and
applying light topdressing to greens, tees, and approaches as conditions allow We will also be working within our designated wetland areas to perform general cleanup and maintain compliance as part of our ongoing restoration work. Below is a summary of the project-specific work completed this month.
Sod Work – Holes 4, 5 & 6
This month we installed just over 10,000 sq ft of sod along the cart-path edges on holes 4, 5, and 6 near the greens These areas traditionally experience heavy cart wear, particularly during the height of the season.
As we move into 2026, we will be implementing defined enter/exit points for all par-4 and par5 holes. These designated areas will help us better manage cart patterns, reduce compaction, and keep turf along the path edges in consistent, playable condition
AGRONOMY
Fairway Verti-Cutting Program
This fall’s Verti-cutting program was one of the most productive we ’ ve completed in recent years At a depth of 3/16 inch, we were able to remove a significant amount of thatch and organic material from the fairways. This process improves firmness, enhances water infiltration, reduces disease potential, and encourages healthier upright growth heading into next season Although the cleanup process leaves visible debris for a short time, the long-term benefits are substantial and will help us deliver tighter, more consistent fairway conditions in 2026.
Irrigation Power Repair – Member Sports Club
Earlier this month we resolved a significant electrical issue affecting the irrigation system on holes 12 through 16. The power feeding these controllers originates at the Member Sports Club, and over time the wires beneath the walkway deteriorated and began making contact with each other, causing a short and loss of power.
We excavated the area, spliced in new wiring, and installed a protective conduit so that the system is properly shielded moving forward. Power and functionality to these holes have now b f ll d

Hole 5 – Green Expansion Progress
We continue to advance the green-expansion project on Hole 5 This month we brought the newly prepped turf down to 0.275 inches, and we will maintain this height through the winter months.
In spring 2026, we plan to gradually reduce the height of cut to match our greens mowing height of 0 100 inches This phased approach will ensure a smooth transition and a healthy, uniform putting surface.
Putting Green Recovery
I’m pleased to report that the greens have achieved full recovery from fall aeration, with only a few isolated areas still finishing their healing process. The timing and weather worked in our favor, and the strong rebound puts us in a great position heading into winter dormancy.

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I once read that December should be the month of CONTROL-ALT-DELETE!
The concept is that you:
CONTROL: While you can absolutely enjoy your family and friends, you don’t want to lose all the progress you have made on your fitness goals and living a healthier lifestyle. Control your food portions and drink plenty of water.
ALTERNATE: Alternate your workouts with cardio, strength, and stretching. If you have been doing the same thing for months, make the weeks of December different by changing your routine. Try a new fitness class or a session with a personal trainer for new ideas to keep you motivated
DELETE: Delete any negativity! Believe in yourself; your fitness journey is your own no need to compete with the person or people beside you. Think of all the positive things that you achieved in 2025 towards your health goals

CHOCOLATE AVOCADO MOUSSE
I found this so easy to make and so delicious! It’s vegan and also great for those with special dietary needs enjoy!
INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup refrigerated sweetened coconut milk
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 medium ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
1/4 cup baking cocoa
DIRECTIONS
Place all ingredients in a blender; cover and process until smooth. Transfer to 4 dessert dishes. Refrigerate until serving, at least 2 hours.
