Wow! The 2024 year is now upon us, and I simply can’t believe how quickly the days are coming and going. Here at Ocean Edge, we have been very busy in preparing, reviewing, and finalizing budgets and capital improvement projects to make all amenities, facilities, and experiences better for all our members and our resort guests. Here is a glimpse of a few different projects we have going thus far and some of which we will be implementing. For Golf course operations we have the clearing of trees, shrubs, and brush for the wetlands project which has already begun its initial phases. Believe me when I say that upon your return to Ocean Edge and the Cape you will see drastic change on holes #8, #9 and #14. We are looking forward to our new tee sheet software being implemented this spring for golf, tennis and pickleball. We are planning to bring in some new fitness equipment for Member Sports Club, Fletcher Fitness center as well as Bayside Fitness center. We are confident that we will start out the season with all pools fully operational and heated. It will be a fantastic start to the 2024 year! Please be on the lookout via the website and/or in the weekly e-blast communications, for our 2024 calendar of events. This year will be full of exciting new golf events, social events, and activities for all our members and families to enjoy. In review of the 2023 year, I would like to thank all our members for their continued support in making so many memorable moments here at Ocean Edge. We hope that all of you enjoyed your holidays on and off the Cape. I would specifically like to thank the Advisory Board of members for their help and contributions in supporting our efforts in making Ocean Edge the most sought after and desirable club on the Cape. They have truly been a supporting role in helping Ocean Edge evolve as a club. We will have some Advisory Board seats openings this year so if you are interested, please feel free to reach out to myself or fill out the Board of Advisors Nominee Questionnaire & Application on the website under Member Resources and Documents. Additionally, I would like to thank all the Ocean Edge staff for their continued hard work, day in and day out, in making all things possible for everyone to enjoy. We know we are on the right track with all the positive feedback from our members, and we feel strongly that we can improve on 2023’s momentum. This winter join us for dinner at the Roscommon Room or in Bayzo’s Pub to experience Chef Phil and his culinary teams’ delicious meals. With the support of Ocean Edge, this year marks the 11th year for our Thursday night member dining nights hosted by Kathy Sullivan. Kathy has sent out communications to many of you already for our first Thursday dinner on January 18th. We will have an event link on the website for all members to register. Thursday nights are also Trivia nights so bring your appetite and your thinking caps as we look forward to seeing all of you there!! Please do not hesitate to let me, or any of our team, know how we can improve your membership experience. Feel free to contact me as I continue to address your concerns and wants to improve upon the Club here at Ocean Edge. I can be reached best via email at Stephan.Harrington@oceanedge.com or by phone at 571-278-2860. Thank you for all the feedback and together we will continue our efforts in expanding upon all aspects of Ocean Edge.

We are now officially into 2024 and the new year has begun. The Club is developing a multitude of plans for the upcoming year and over the next few weeks and months, will be unveiling the 2024 updates on services and amenities. Each year we invest heavily into the property and this year is no different with many enhancements for the Club. Please watch for updates through the Club Newsletter, website postings, the Facebook page, and weekly e-blasts that will highlight projects that may impact you as Club Members. One item of communication that is available today is the Calendar of events and socials for 2024. Samantha has done an incredible job in creating this calendar and I hope you find this useful in planning your social schedule at the Club throughout the year. All the events are linked to the registration forms so that you can easily navigate each month’s events and activities that suit you and your family! Other noteworthy news is that we are working on the new on-line bookings for Golf, Tennis and Pickleball! The key to this new software is that you will have only the one login at the Club website, www.oceanedgeclub.com. From there you can select to schedule a tee time or book a tennis or pickleball court, add in details with who you are playing with and have the ability to manage your tee time or court booking when changes happen. The system will have updated booking policies which will also be introduced at the time of launching the software, with the sole objective of being more convenient for you, as a valued member of the Club, to book your golf and recreational activities with ease. January has also been the traditional kick-off of Member Dining Nights at Bayzo’s Pub. Kathy Sullivan has tirelessly organized this evening for the past many years and will be sending an email for a January 18 kick-off. We are hoping to assist Kathy and make it a bit easier to organize the Thursday Nights, so this year we have added a link to register for Member Nights at Bayzo’s on the Club website. Kathy has already reached out to many who have supported this evening in the past, and we hope that many new members can join us on the 18th, and thereafter throughout the winter. The New Year at the Club has begun! However, please be reminded that technically the new Membership year does not begin until April 1. Dues notices will be sent sometime in February / earlyMarch for those who prefer annual payment. On behalf of the entire Club Team, we wish you and your families a very happy and healthy New Year!

Since the golf season has ended with the closure of the golf course, our conservation project is off and running. Our focus has been on the 8th hole to start. Multiple trees were removed on both sides of the hole to help widen the playing corridor from years of encroachment. Extensive cutting and removal of the many invasive plants that line the hill sides around the tee complexes was completed, opening areas for replanting of native cape cod plant species. Holes 9 and 14 will be next on the schedule for January and February.
I want to thank all the members for your support over the past 4 years. I have enjoyed my time improving upon our special Nicklaus designed golf course. I wish all of you the best in 2024 and beyond!

Greetings from the MSC! Happy 2024 Ocean Edge! We hope you had wonderful holidays celebrating with friends and family. The start of a new year is always a great time to establish new fitness goals. According to the ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) 2023 continued with wearable technology and functional fitness as the top trends. We certainly saw it here at the Members Sports Club with so many people using smart watches and attending our weights and balance classes. 2024 is predicted to continue the trend of wearable technology and functional fitness however, there is a definite spotlight on recovery workouts and a welcome return of dance or specialty classes like foam rolling. 2024 will bring more focus on mental health, mindfulness and stress reduction. Dance classes allow participants to try new routines, with inspiring music and a fun atmosphere and enjoy the community of a group setting. We have already started our planning for the summer fitness schedule so you will see the new classes this season. We are so happy that so many of our members continue to have personal workouts online. We love seeing you year-round and keeping everyone on track with their fitness goals. No gym is necessary to work on your core strength and flexibility. Please reach out to us if you would like an online fitness session to jump start your 2024. We are here for you! In honor of the new year and the ever-constant question “what should I eat for breakfast?” I thought I would share one of my favorite smoothie recipes from eatingwell.com I like to add vanilla protein powder to it and if you need to lower the sugar you can add less blueberries and omit the honey. Enjoy!

Anti-Inflammatory Lemon-Blueberry Smoothie The kale, hemp seeds and green tea in this bright, lemony smoothie all contain antioxidants that can help fight inflammation. If you can’t find baby kale, baby spinach will work well in its place. Banana adds natural sweetness. If you want it a little sweeter, just a touch of honey will do the trick.
Ingredients Ingredients 1 cup frozen blueberries, plus more for garnish 1 medium ripe banana, peeled and frozen 1 cup packed baby kale 1/2 cup unsweetened plain almond milk 1/2 cup chilled unsweetened brewed green tea 2 tablespoons hulled hemp seeds 3/4 teaspoon lemon zest, plus more for garnish 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon honey (optional) 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
Directions Place blueberries, banana, kale, almond milk, tea, hemp seeds, lemon zest, lemon juice, honey (if using) and ginger in a blender; process until smooth, about 25 seconds. Pour into a glass. Garnish with additional blueberries and/or lemon zest, if desired.
