STATE OF THE Billiard Congress of America
As we prepare for the 2025 Billiard Congress of America Expo, we want to provide our membership with an overview of the state of our operations and current financial standing. As you see from the fiscal overview below, we have taken significant strides in stabilizing our fiscal position. After a post-pandemic period of anemic financial performance, we have recognized a year of financial growth and have a plan for continuing our momentum.
Under the stewardship of Philippe Singer from Predator, for the past two years we have implemented a series of efficiency measures while concurrently identifying means to maximize current activities relative to fiscal performance. We took a hard look at the state of our industry and recognized the necessity of mending fragmentation amongst our membership. With the leadership of Singer and the clear, strategic vision spelled out by our Board of Directors, we were able to unite our industry into one marquee event with a singular vision of moving all our interests forward through collaboration and teamwork.
BCA EXPO
As one observes from our financial overview below, we remain heavily reliant on our annual Expo for a significant percentage of our fiscal condition. Due to our industry reconciliation in 2024, we experienced strong exhibitor sales and
attendee turnout at our Expo. We project growth again this year but foresee potential challenges arising in 2026 due to questions related to our partner’s consideration of an event date alteration and location change.
Our dependence on the Expo reflects our organizational focus as a member-based trade industry group. Our membership has indicated that our priority should be the provision of an Expo that provides higher sales for our manufacturers and larger margins for our retailers. We will continue to prioritize the expo and identify ways to improve the event for our membership.
PROFESSIONAL BILLIARDS INSTRUCTORS ASSOCIATION
The BCA has experienced continued growth and success in the Professional Billiard Instructors Association (PBIA). The program features over 300 certified instructors from the United States and 18 other countries. The PBIA remains the largest international organization of certified, professional billiard instructors.
