Welcome to our 41st annual performance bull sale. We count ourselves blessed to have the opportunity to meet and work with many great people, some of whom have been with us since the very beginning. The foundation of our breeding program is in producing economically relevant females that produce herdsires that are born to breed and bred to perform. Our females possess fertility, fleshing ability, milk, calving ease, and added carcass traits, without giving up dimension or performance. These females raise a more consistent calf crop annually, and as you’ll see from this year’s bull offering, cattle that continue to improve year after year. We take advantage of AI and embryo transfer to speed up this process and help us select genetics that check all the boxes. Within this catalog, you will find several groups of ET brothers and many of the mothers are the result of our ET program. Our goal is to focus on the full picture, taking some of the guess work out of raising cattle. The weaning weights of these bulls reflect the milking ability of our cow herd and the efficiency to perform on grass without creep feed. From weaning, the bulls are developed on a high roughage ration with the goal of gaining 3 to 3.5 lbs. per day. During our first test weight period, this set of bulls gained an average of 3.75 lbs. per day. This, along with being developed in a large open lot, allow them to grow into sound, functional herd bulls. We delayed the production of this catalog as long as we could to wait for those results. Any sire changes will be listed on a supplement sheet as soon as available and posted on BeastromRanch.com. Lot 5 is another powerhouse bull that combines length and muscle mass. He has really come together this winter and keeps getting better with age. He gained 4.05 lbs./day over the first test period and ranks in the top percentiles for performance traits. His dam is consistent in her production, raising several sons with big birth-to-weaning spreads (Ave. BW: 79; Ave. WW: 721). 1804H is a bull with lots of growth and performance. His maternal pedigree goes back to the PLA Starburst 01X cow - a donor owned by Goldux Gelbvieh. We purchased a daughter (202Z) and a flush because we like the power, thickness, and hip that she puts in her calves. Lot 7’s dam (4700B) has an average weaning ratio of 106 with an average adjusted weaning weight of 745 lbs. on four bulls. She has consistently produced bulls that perform well. This is a deep-bodied, thick-quartered bull with a big hip. We really like him for his muscle mass and power. He is a great 75% Gelbvieh bull from a proven cow family.

His no-miss dam, BEA 1046, has done a tremendous job of raising several top bulls, from various sires, that have sold well in our past sales. Her progeny have moderate birth weights (Avg. 84) and large weaning weights (Avg. 709). He has gained 3.3 lbs./day during the first test period.

Full Brother to Lots 9-10 - Renovate Lots 9 and 10 are full brothers to our purebred bull Renovate, who recently sold on the 2021 BHSS sale. They both offer the same thickness and structural correctness as he does, with maybe some added softness. Purebred 94% bulls are harder to come by and we think highly of these two lots. These bulls have done well since weaning, gaining close to 5 lbs./ day over the first 40 days on feed. Their donor dam has been an outlier in phenotype and production, averaging 15 embryos per flush and we have not found a mating that we do not like. Her progeny average 72 lbs. at birth, 752 lbs. at weaning, and 1322 lbs. at a year of age. There is also a full sister who we believe is one of the most exciting females we have produced to date.

Kevin continues to be our go-to purebred sire. Kevin-sired calves speak volumes for the consistency, performance, and maternal merit we like to see within our cow families. These will be the last progeny offered from River Hills Forever Lady U276. She has been one of the most influential Angus females in our program. U276’s progeny has averaged 78 lbs. at birth and 811 lbs. at weaning. We have used several maternal brothers within out program, BABR 4267B and BABR Capone 5200C, who both offer early growth and performance. You will find these herd sires within the pedigree of several sale bulls. Lots 11 and 12 have done well since weaning, gaining an average of 3.6 lbs./day during their first 40 days on feed.

These two ET brothers were a really fun mating to watch develop this past summer. Their mother is new to our donor pen, but not a stranger to producing powerful genetics. We reached back into our embryo storage quite a few years to produce these two ET brothers. They are out of our Dixie Erica 2800 female who was one of the first purchases we made to create Balancer genetics. She was a no-miss female with both her sons and daughters. Several full brothers to these lots have been past sale toppers and went on to raise outstanding feeder cattle as well as replacement females. These two ET brothers have been easy to spot in the pasture throughout the summer and kept our attention this fall and winter in the bull pen. They are both long-spined and easy-fleshing, with a big, solid foot to carry them with ease. They are thick-made and square over their hip and lower quarter. Their dam, BEA Lola 5039R, has been a long-time donor female resulting in some of our top red genetics sold at auction. Their sire is a son of BEA Closer 301A, who we retained a semen interest on for in-herd us. His new owner has stated they are the best sire group he has had to date.
