IGNITING POTENTIAL As we grow the number of youth we serve, it is imperative that we renovate and expand the mentoring hub in which we recruit, screen, train, enroll, and match our Bigs, Littles, and their families.
• Higher aspirations By partnering with parents, guardians, volunteers, and others in the community, we are accountable for each child achieving:
• Greater confidence and better relationships • Avoidance of risky behaviors • Educational success

BUILDING A
MENTORING HUB
OUR GOAL IS TO SERVE AN ESTIMATED 600 CHILDREN PER YEAR BY 2025
which is a 53% increase. Our current facility is already bursting at the seams with all of the activities it takes to deliver our high-quality mentoring programs. It is built for 12 and is currently housing 16 staff and 3 interns. Furthermore, it is not ADA compliant.
FUTURE
RECRUIT
TRAIN
Recruiting through a variety of civic, community, and corporate organizations. Our current building does not allow space for these gatherings.
In today’s world more and more training is required to best serve our youth. Our current facility does not have enough quiet space with proper technology for training for the unique needs and safety of our Littles.
SCREEN + ENROLL + EXPERTLY MATCH
ONGOING MATCH SUPPORT + ACTIVITIES
We conduct background checks and 1:1 interviews to screen our Bigs. We need more private space for these confidential conversations as we continue to recruit more mentors. We also interview parents/ guardians and Littles to ensure we successfully match them with the best mentor for them personally. Our current office space also doesn’t allow for private introductions.
We provide ongoing support and guidance to Littles, parents/guardians, and Bigs on a regular basis. Bigs & Littles meet 2-4 times each month for a minimum of 12 months. We also provide and facilitate activities for our matches individually and as a group throughout the year. We conduct monthly and quarterly calls to monitor progress towards goals and to ensure the strength of the mentoring relationship. 5

“
My memories of what my grandfather started, and accomplished in this organization aren’t very vivid, but the goals, and plans, and realized dreams that my grandfather had for this agency are very clear, and very evident today. I am very happy and honored to be a Legacy Board Member thanks to the ambition that my grandfather had, and the continued legacy of my dad. I look forward to being a part of the next Big Step towards continuing the plans, and dreams that my grandfather started so many years ago.

will be split between:
Are currently served by our scholarship program
Operational Endowment We have a $1.15 million operational endowment in place, which is Board-directed. The purpose of the endowment is to sustain existing programs and to launch/pilot new programs and resources.
Currently, the annual disbursement is utilized as part of our operational budget to maintain our existing programs and to serve our current youth and their families.
A Year: $3,000 per year/ $1,500 per semester
Scholarship Endowment Our scholarship program is “needs-based” and open to students who participate in our program. When our Littles receive a scholarship from Big Brothers Big Sisters, we award them $1,500 per semester/$3,000 per year. These scholarships may be utilized towards 2-year, 4-year, and trade or professional school. In addition, we stay connected and provide resources throughout their full college journey.
16 SCHOLARSHIPS
We commit to their comprehensive education as long as they maintain a 2.5 GPA. Many of our students miss out on other scholarships. We not only provide funds for post-high school education; we stay connected and provide resources throughout their full college journey. Many of them are first generation college students. Navigating the experience can otherwise be overwhelming for them. We currently have $1.2 million in this endowment. Within the next year we will max out the number of scholarships we can give with a 5% endowment draw annually.
