Better Business Bureau, Central & SE Ohio’s Center for Character Ethics is proud to present the Laws of Life Essay Contest as part of our mission to promote the character development of Ohio’s future leaders. By participating, students are encouraged to reflect on their values and articulate why those principles matter in a deeply meaningful way. The Laws of Life Essay Contest invites students to reflect on the values that guide their decisions and shape who they are. Through the writing process, students strengthen critical thinking and communication skills while engaging in meaningful self-reflection and ethical exploration. Positioned as supplemental Common Core curriculum, the program gives students a compelling reason to write, revise, and connect classroom learning to real-world values. Educators consistently find that it not only enhances academic growth, but also fosters empathy, understanding, and stronger connections among students.
