THE STUDY ABROAD OFFICE The Study Abroad Office (SAO) is the dedicated service that helps you plan your study abroad period. THE EDHEC AMBASSADORS

Student ambassadors hold one of the most important positions at EDHEC. They are proud to wear their school's colours and therefore represent it at various internal and external events at a national or international level.

What does the Ambassadorship consist of? Attached to the Promotion and Admissions Department, the ambassador experience allows students to validate their 1st or 2nd year internship through the Career Center and represents a real opportunity to meet with high school students to guide them in their choice of higher education. This internship's aim is to allow the ambassadors to acquire skills in marketing, communication and event organization.

When to apply for the Amabassadorship? New ambassadors are recruited at the beginning of the academic year and the internship starts in mid-September and ends in late May.

Want to represent EDHEC in your high school? During the academic year, students are encouraged to return to their former institution to participate in the various forums and conferences that are organized there to share their BBA experience. The Promotion and Admissions team is available to provide you with sales training as well as the necessary materials (goodies, kakemonos, brochures, etc.) to participate in these events.

THE LIBRARY The library is at your side throughout your studies at EDHEC. You can find both printed and electronic resources (available 24/7) covering a wide range of subjects (law, economics, languages, political sciences, etc.). Your library is part of the Vauban University library network with 3 branches located in the Lille area: The EDHEC Lille library the Vauban University library in Lille the Humanicité library in Lomme

What are the library's opening hours? The library welcomes you: from Monday to Friday, between 9am and 9 pm on Saturdays, between 10am and 6pm Opening hours may change during school holidays and exam periods.

How can you borrow items? All you need is your student card. In order to access our electronic resources (eBooks, press, databases) and to manage your loans and reservations, you need to connect to your account (using your EDHEC login credentials) on the library's website: https://bibliotheque.univcatholille.fr/ IMPORTANT: Your borrowing rights will be suspended for as many days as you are late in returning the documents you have borrowed.

THE LANGUAGE RESOURCE CENTER The Language Resource Center (LRC) is a place where you can get advice and help to prepare for internationally-recognized language exams such as: TOEFL TOEIC IELTS You can also: get access to the GMAT prep materials improve your speaking skills in different languages by joining the TANDEM PROGRAM apply for a premium account on BUSUU to learn an additional language sign up for workshops in English sign up for walk-in sessions in French, German and Spanish get help with CVs and cover letters in English

EATING AT EDHEC Whether you feel like nibbling on something or need a proper meal, there is something for everyone throughout the campus: vending machines, cafeteria, etc. Enjoy!

Envie de Saisons Envie de Saisons is a sandwich shop offering sandwiches, salad, hot meals, drinks and snacks. The shop is divided into 2: a café open from Monday to Friday, from 7.30am to 5.30pm a cafeteria open from Monday to Friday, from 11am to 2pm

Le Self The "Garden" cafeteria is located on the main building's 2nd floor. They offer a variety of hot meals every day. Opening hours: Monday-Friday 11.45am to 2pm

Auchan Go

Auchan Go is a local till-free grocery shop. You will find the basic necessities there, ranging from hot meals to toiletry. Opening hours : 24/7. To order what you need and pay, download the Auchan Go app.

My Edhec is your online portal where you can find all information regarding both your programme and your campus. YOUR EDHEC MAILBOX What is your EDHEC mailbox?

Each EDHEC student has an EDHEC inbox which is a Microsoft Outlook inbox. All EDHEC emails will be sent to your EDHEC inbox. That means that you have to use your EDHEC email address only to contact us.

Advice to better manage your inbox

You will receive countless emails throughout the year, from all departments. Here is some advice to help you not drown in your emails. TEACH YOURSELF: check the Microsoft tutorials to learn how to create folders, manage your Outlook invitations, etc. PLAN AHEAD: check your emails at least once a day. SORT THEM OUT: only keep urgent emails in your inbox. The rest of your emails should be sorted out and filed. GO AUTOMATIC: set an automatic signature up so that it shows all your details. The faster we will be able to identify you, the faster we will reply. GO ON A DIGITAL BREAK: during your holidays, think about turning your email notifications off. But do not forget to turn them on again once you get back!

CAPSULE What is Capsule?

CAPSULE is a support system designed specifically for students in all their aspects.

What kind of help does Capsule provide?

Capsule encompasses several actions and events taking place throughout the academic year: One-to-one meetings: academic assessment and follow-up with your local Deputy Director Meet-up programme with mentors to grow, learn to know one another and capitalising on your strengths. Methodology workshops to learn new efficient studying techniques Toolbox with crib sheets.

DIFFERENCES WITH SECONDARY EDUCATION You are now Higher Education students, which means that you will need to adapt to change, both from a behaviour point of view but also with regards to the team of professionals supporting you. . Thus, the person you will be talking to will not be the same as in secondary school, so will the rules & regulations.

YOUR CLASSES Different types of classes

Classes can either take place: on campus online via Collaborate sessions on Blackboard on your own: they are called e-learning and it is up to you to complete them before a certain deadline.

What time do classes start and end?

Classes take place: Mond-Fri, 8am to 8pm On occasion on Saturdays, 8am to 1pm Thursday afternoon is dedicated to sports or students' associations and sometimes for exams Each class is 50-minute long in order for all students to have time to join their next class.

Different types of assessment

Students can be assessed: throughout the semester during exam sessions There are 2 exam sessions taking place each semester: midterm session: taking place in the middle of each semester final session: taking place at the end of each semester There is also the resit session taking place in June.

ABSENCES How are absences processed? Before starting your class, you need to swipe your student card. Should you forget to do so, you will be noted as absent for the entire length of your class. You have up to 48hrs after returning to class to give original documentation directly to the hub.

WARNING No medical proof will be accepted beyond this deadline! You cannot skip classes to attend students' organisation events!

What will happen if I miss an exam? Should you miss an exam (continuous assessment, midterm of final exam...), even if you provide medical proof, you will then get a 0/20 grade. However, please note that, should you provide medical proof, you will then have the opportunity to attend the June resit session.

What will happen if I am late? Should you be late, you will be marked as absent for the whole duration of your class.

WARNING No lateness will be tolerated! Professors will not allow you to attend their class.

COMMUNICATING WITH US In order for us to reply to your requests as fast as possible, you should always make sure to apply some basic rules of etiquette.

Who should you contact?

Each department has specific duties. Please make sure you contact the right person, depending on your questions. In order to know who you should talk to: carefully read the Administrative Departments section of this guide read the memo at the end of this guide

Before you write to us, please ask yourself the following questions: can I find the answer on My Edhec? can I find the answer in my emails or in my Programme Rules?

Emailing someone: best practice Set your automatic signature up before classes start. It should read as follows: Example: Jane DOE BBA1 English Track Half Cohort A1

Use the appropriate salutations. An email is not a text message!

Use paragraphs.

Use only your EDHEC email address to contact us.

MOVING ON TO THE 2ND YEAR Which grade is required to move on to BBA2?

In order to move on to BBA2, you will need: either a 12/20 or more yearly overall average(ie all subjects included) OR at least a 10/20 subject average, for each semester

When will I know that I am moving on to BBA2?

The end-of-year Jury meets once a year, around mid-July, once all the resit session's results have been published. Once the Jury has taken its decision, your final transcript is uploaded on your My Edhec account. Nevertheless, you can calculate your overall average yourself once all grades have been published (make sure not to make any mistakes!).

THE RESIT SESSION

What is the Resit Session?

The Resit Session is meant for students who have failed to move on to BBA2 either for insufficient results or because they were absent during one or several of their exams.

When does it take place?

The Resit Session takes place in June, and lasts for 1 week. The dates are in your Academic Calendar, on My Edhec. The resit exams must be taken on campus only.

Which exams will I resit?

Should your yearly overall average be less than 12/20, you will have to resit each subject whose average per semester is less than 10/20.

Need to know more? Each year, a Resit information meeting takes place in April, on campus. Make sure to attend it! You should also check out your Programme Rules available on My Edhec > Mon Cursus > Mes règlements

REPEATING A YEAR Who will decide if I have to repeat a year?

Should you fail your resit exams, the Jury can decide to let you repeat your year. In that case, your Deputy Director will contact you in July to make an appointment in order to further discuss this matter.

Do I have to repeat a year if I do not want to? You will have a few days to make up your mind about repeating your year or not. Should you refuse to repeat your year, you will then have to leave EDHEC.

You are only allowed to repeat a year once during your 4 years of BBA!

How is a repeating year organised? Should you agree to repeat the year, you will then have to start all over again (the subjects you validated included). You will then have to attend regular academic follow-up meeting with your Deputy Director. You will also have to attend 4 group meetings dedicated to repeating students.

Repeating a year is not meant to punish you! It aims to give you a second chance at succeeding!

LEAVING EDHEC

Can students leave EDHEC before graduation?

There are 3 main reasons to leave EDHEC: the Jury has decided to let you go (insufficient results, failure after a repeating year) members of the Disciplinary Hearing Committee have decided you have to leave a student decides they want to leave

How can I resign?

Should you wish to resign, you will then have to send a registered letter with acknowlegment of receipt (via the Postal Service only) to Mr MEYFREDI. You letter should state: your wish to leave the reasons why you wish to do so the date you would like to leave Once Mr. MEYFREDI receives your letter, we will let all administrative departments know about your decision.

What about the tuition fees?

Should you resign during the academic year, you will then be reiumbursed on a prorata basis.

YOUR REPRESENTATIVES Student representatives have a duty to represent their fellow colleagues' voice during EDHEC's administrative authority meetings (class representatives meetings, School Council).

Types of Student Representatives

There are 3 types of Student Representatives: Class Representatives: in charge of representing each half cohort Track Representatives: in charge of representing each track Deputy Representatives: in charge of standing in for other representatives absent for a meeting

What do Student Representatives do?

Student Representatives must talk about the issues that students face but also the positive points. They have to gather, sum up and tell their half cohort/track's comments.

How often do the meetings take place?

Class Representatives meetings: once a month School Council: once per semester

When are the elections taking place?

Student Representatives elections take place each year, in September.

GLOSSARY Alumni Association composed of all EDHEC students and EDHEC graduates, from all EDHEC programmes.

Ambassador 1st or 2nd year EDHEC International BBA student in charge of representing EDHEC at various internal and external events, national or international. The Ambassador mission is an internship validated by the Career Center and taking place from October until June.

BBA Bachelor in Business Administration. Business degree given at EDHEC.

BDE Bureau des Élèves. Students Association in charge of new students' integration as well as Student Life.

Blackboard EDHEC's Learning Management System where you can find all your courses content, participate in your virtual classrooms, send your assignments, etc.

Busuu Language learning platform designed to you help you learn foreign languages. To know more about BUSUU, contact the LRC.

Capsule Support system designed for all BBA students, including methodology advice as well as the Meetup programme.

GLOSSARY Career Center Service dedicated to vocational guidance and career path. Your only point of contact for all your questions regarding internships.

Class Representative Elected student in charge of representing half a cohort or a track in EDHEC's administrative body.

Collaborate Virtual class given via Blackboard, live.

CPSU Centre Polyvalent de Santé Universitaire. Located in Lille, near the Catho. Possibility to see General Practitioners as well as Specialist doctors.

E-learning Assignment that students have to do on their own or in groups, before the next class.

ECTS Standard means for comparing academic credits within a country and across Europe. Each course corresponds to a certain number of credits that have to be validated in order to move on to the next year and graduate.

EDHEC Entrepreneurs Service dedicated to helping out entrepreneurs part of the EDHEC ecosystem. Whether you just have the beginning of an idea or you are on the verge of launching your project, EDHEC Entrepreneurs' team will be at your side to help make the most of your business.

GLOSSARY Elective Compulsory courses followed during the 2nd semester. They have to be chosen among a list provided during the 1st semester.

Finals Exam period taking place at the end of each semester.

Foyer A place located on the Main Building's 2nd floor where you can relax. It is equipped with a pool table, a TV and a foosball table.

Grade report A grade report is a document detailing all your grades for the 1st semester as well as your ranking.

Grade transcript A grade transcript is a document detailing all your grades for the whole year as well as the end-of-year jury's decision.

Half cohort The equivalent of your class. Each half cohort is composed of about 40 students.

Hub Your main place of information for everything academic. Located on the S Building's 3rd floor (S3).

ISO EDHEC International Students Office. Dedicated to assisting international students in all administrative procedures and daily life matters (accommodation, health insurance, bank, etc.).

GLOSSARY Kot Shared apartment on the Lille campus' student residence.

La Catho Université Catholique de Lille.

Leniency Leniency may be given by the end-of-year jury, should your yearly overall average be really close to 12/20. In BBA1, it can be given but cannot be asked for.

LRC Language Resource Center. Located in S4-127 and meant to help students get better at languages.

Meetup Programme offered to students on both campuses, supervised by mentors who will discuss various themes, in small groups, throughout the year. This system allows you to address non-academic subjects, to discuss your issues and feelings.

Midterms Exam period taking place half-semester.

Prosconsulte Free and anonymous hotline providing all EDHEC students with psychological help. Opened 24/7.

Resit Retake exam taking place in June for students who have failed to move on to the next year due to poor results or sickness.

Roll call Electronic roll call. Each student needs to swipe their student card before each class begins in order to prove their attendance.

SAO Study Abroad Office. In charge of academic exchanges abroad.

Sentinelle Sentinelles students' role is to listen to students who have either witnessed or experienced Gender-Based and Sexual Violence. They then have to refer them to the right people or authorities.

SGBV Sexual and Gender-Based Violence. Each year, all 1st year students are required to attend mandatory workshops about this particular topic.

SIP Sustainable Impact Projects are associative projects contributing to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by applying the skills acquired during your 1st year.
