Classof 1973

Dear Class of 1973,

It’s hard to believe it’s been 50 years since The Debonaire Class of 1973 high school graduation. We are in the presence of greatness this weekend! The galaxy is illuminated a little brighter due to our 50th Class Reunion in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! With pride and joy, we thank you for joining us to commemorate this blessed occasion.

One word comes to mind: gratitude. We are reunited, and it feels so good! Many of you traveled long and short distances to make this reunion a phenomenal success. We hope you will enjoy this time filled with camaraderie, great food, music, dancing, faith experiences, a WHS school tour, and surprises galore!

Every decade is a milestone worth sharing. We appreciate everyone who chose to engage, bask in, reminisce and celebrate the Bulldog Legacy and our roles in it! We hope you all enjoy the arrangements. We value the years spent by each of you at The House. We can’t say enough about the gifted, talented and selfless Reunion Planning Committee members who built our infrastructure and planned the celebration with you in mind. Never underestimate the power of a few committed and engaged people! We experienced superior teamwork and have been good stewards of your resources. We thank each of them for their tireless work and sacrifices.

Our commemorative program book has been designed to give you a special take away from the event. Our Planning Committee’s goal is to encourage you to remember our rich history at “The House” and our special 50th Reunion Weekend.

Last, but not least, we thank the President of WHS4EVER – Mr. Richard Morris – for his mentorship and coaching throughout the entire process. This event would not have been possible without his unwavering support.

Our 50th Reunion Class Photo will be available for purchase. Stay tuned. We pray that we’ll all stay in touch with each other over the years to come. Again, thank you from the Reunion Planning Committee. Be safe and stay healthy!

Dear Westinghouse High School members of the Class of 1973,

On behalf of the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy at Arizona State University, I offer sincere congratulations on the occasion of your 50th reunion. We have come to know about the fortitude, excellence, and leadership of your class through Carole Coles Henry, a distinguished and inspiring architect of change. As the chair of the Centers Advisory Board, she has advanced the mission and vision of our center in substantial and deliberate ways. Her unwavering commitment to the Center is fueled by her belief in the power of learning and civic engagement. It is clear to us that her strengths and her commitment to equal justice, educational opportunity and community advancement are rooted in her years as a Westinghouse student. Ms. Coles-Henry’s example continues to ensure that we all heed the call to serve, to lead and to advocate in ways that uplift and encourage others wherever and whenever we can.

Dear Westinghouse High School

Debonaire Class of 1973,

On behalf of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., we are thrilled to extend our warmest greetings to all the esteemed graduates of this remarkable class! Westinghouse High School has a long tradition of “excellence.” It is an honor for the members of KAΨ to support this special occasion as a sponsor.

At Arizona State University, we are guided by our clear sighted charter whose opening declaration states that our university is measured “not by whom it excludes by whom it includes and how they succeed.“ Our mission at the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy is to broaden and deepen our shared knowledge and understanding of the histories, triumphs and challenges that continue to shape our collective present and that are already shaping our shared futures. As we celebrate your 50th reunion and all that you have accomplished and advanced, know that we are awed by your school spirit and your determination to ensure the success of the young people who are 21st century Westinghouse Bulldogs.

We salute you for your generosity of spirit and for your intentional philanthropy that will ensure that Westinghouse high School students continue to make positive and vibrant change in our world.

Congratulations!!

The “Fundamental Purpose of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity is Achievement” in every field of human endeavor. We strongly believe in the power of community service and the impact it has on society. We are proud to support this event, as it embodies the spirit of lifelong friendships, personal growth, and shared experiences.

As members of KAΨ, we commend the 50th Reunion organizing committee for their dedication and tireless efforts in bringing together this event. Their commitment to ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees is truly amazing.
