The Honor Guard of Lower and Middle School students for Seniors on Class Day is a beloved Bay View tradition. Held on the Friday before graduation, it is the ﬁrst time the graduates don their caps and gowns, and they process from the Wellness Center to the front of Mercy Hall to cheers and high-ﬁves from the younger students. This year, like most years, the Class of 2022 was blessed with a sunny morning for their procession.

AsCOVID lingersaround theworld,aworld that continuestostrugglewithwarand unexplained actsofviolence, we turntoourfaith. Togetherwemust ﬁnd strengthandinspirationintheﬂameofDivineLovethat illuminates St.ourjourneyandcarriesusforward.MaryAcademy-BayViewcelebratedits137thgraduationthisJuneand

toread about someofthespecial peoplewho generously sharetheirgiftswithourstudentsand community. Look forourTheology Chair, Matt Daly, who invitesourstudentstoseek and find God’sloveeverywhereinlife, and Dr. Kimberly HillJanson’87, alumna, parent, and author, whoremindsuswhyaneducationintheMercy traditionissoimportant.What weknow tobeevertrueineducationisthatinspiring peopleareessential totheministry ofinspiring students. It ismy great privilegetobeleading ourMercy community asweembracenewopportunities, suchasthe recentrenovationofourinnovativescienceand technology learning labs. Werecognizetheirlastingimpact astheirlovefor ourschool isanimated by all whorememberthemand continuetohonortheirlivesand legacies. Ourschool communityishonored by all whostrivetoensurethesuccessand long-standing traditionsof BayView.I’malwaysencouraged by theBay Viewtraditionofgenerously giving back–acustomthatwas distinctly exempliﬁed throughtheendowed scholarshipsprovidedby theClassesof‘70, ‘71,and ‘72.
