Why Do We Compete?

People in America today, and more specifically here at Bay View, are achieving feats of accomplishment through competition. Participation in sports is only one way that some people seek higher strides in self-fulfillment. The satisfaction of success may often gratify many athletes for their endurance. Fear of failure, however, can become a phobia if it is not taken with a certain amount of lightheartedness. It is very unsettling to witness the spirit of teamwork die to negative feelings between people because of high levels of competition.

It is our wish that the motivation to succeed which we have experienced will create more friendliness among us and aid us in understanding people more sincerely.
